I often thought if there are any such jobs/careers such as adult aspies working with aspie children, aspies teens? I would like to get into that field. Would I have to go to school for that type of work? I figure aspie and autistic children and teens would rather have someone who really understands ...

Why do they ask that when they do not want an honest reply, and get annoyed if you tell them honestly? It irritates me!! Nearly every time someone asks me this I hesitate because I have to stop and think about how I am doing and how to reply. My first reaction is to tell them that I am having a cru...

I am female, so it's not quite the same situation, but people do treat me as a child. I believe it has something to do with my appearance, because I am very short, and I do not wear makeup or "adult" looking clothing. I've been mistaken for a child on several occasions (waitresses have offered me t...

I've always thought when I myself was a teen and even younger, that if one did not bathe, shower, or have a nice, neat appearance, that no one would want to be around you, and would make fun of you and you would have no friends because of body odor or bad breath or something of that nature. So I bat...

Dear fellow friends: The experiences here seem very depressing, only because some of those things even happened to me when I was growing up, and I've been out of school for twenty years now. Where's my twenty year reunion invitation? Haven't seen it in my mailbox yet, am I invited? Well see! I wonde...

I've wear glasses full time now, but didn't need glasses til I was around my early twenties and back then I only needed them for close work. Now I need them all the time, and I'm only 39. My vision has only gotten worse in the past few years.

Are there any folks with Asperger's here who LOVE to talk? I like nothing more than to be with a friend and have a lovely conversation. I am aware that it is usually quite difficult for Asperger's people to be verbal, and that to be a fluent talker is quite a feat. I would talk to people all day lo...

I thought that echolalia is something every person with aspergers and autism had in early childhood, and that it is somehow outgrown as they either get older, or learn to speak/talk properly. I had it from I think, two up to five or six years old. I never knew some adults still do that, I thought it...

I wear makeup to enhance my looks/appearance and no more than that! Wear makeup because you want to, not because someone else thinks you should wear some. I don't wear makeup at home, nor when I go shopping in the grocery store. Just to church and other special places and events. I don't even wear m...

I intend to avoid or ignore people if the condescending and patronizing behavior of theirs gets on my nerves or gets to be too much, as I intend to get too much stimuli in my own environment anyway. Usually those types of people are in the same church as I. And yes I do look a bit younger than my ag...
