My GP suggested I could go on antidepressants but suggested I try cognitive therapy first. I'm not sure about antidepressants. They could make me happier but if they make me too happy they might make me lose motivation to solve the problems that make me unhappy in the first place (like being unempl... |

Truck driving is great!! I was concerned about visual spacial issues and even the stress of traffic. The simple fact is that there will be no perfect job but I love my office! I like that I don't have any office politics. It's just me and my Freightliner Cascadia. There are days that are more stress... |

I'm broken, too. I did learn that, for the rest of my life, I will need psychiatric care. Isn't that a depressing thought? Red Robin, there is no shame in needing psychiatric care for the rest of your life. After all, diabetics need insulin and hemophiliacs need blood platelets. I've accepted the f... |

Family can be so critical. You do what you feel you must! An English major can do a lot more than a Criminal Justice major, which is what I graduated with in 2003. Especially a Criminal Justice major that's decided he hates the Criminal Justice System .... LOL! Life will happen on your time table. Y... |

What gets me is the Jehova's Witnesses that won't let their children have a little innocent fun on Halloween. I love this time of year and I'm going to a halloween party at my favorite bar. |

I feel so lonely and disappointed with the world. I'm sorry you feel that way. The world can be a very adversarial, especially to folks whom are different. I feel lonely at times too and it isn't pleasant. I'm in recovery mode from a major depressive episode so I really don't have words of wisdom t... |

If I had to hazard a guess it's because so much of our energies are caught up in anxiety and making certain we are doing or saying the right things and not doing or saying the wrong ones. Very understandable! |

If you had a good time, does it matter why you did it? Sometimes humans have a tendency to seek meaning to our actions. Not everything requires a meaning. A little fun now and then is a good thing. |

I can definitely relate. My situation is my fear of having to leave one job for another one; it is not easy but it has to be done. I must say I never realized how much I miss my low paying, easy, stress free minimum wage job. I had that same job for seven years and the co-workers there became like ... |

I can relate as well! But I found that once I got started and into a routine it was okay. Of course, it helped that I finally found a career that I really like: truck driving. |

It just so happens that Terry (Sweet NT bar tender) is making meatless tacos tonight. She's decided her regulars need to be eating better so her motherly instinct came out. She sent an email to all of us Tuesday nighters. A few groaned until she gave us an electronic smack and wrote, "You'll love my... |

I think each and every person has their own time table and we should not judge people by when they've had their first full on sexual experience. I am high functioning and had mine at 36 years old. It doesn't mean that I am deficient or broken. I take personal issue with The 40 Year Old Virgin. It do... |

Hmmm, I hear you. I still have significant trouble with executive functions. It puzzles me how I can troubleshoot complex technology issues but simple things such as record keeping positively stymie me. Attempts to understand leave me confused, irritated, and anxiety ridden. I am also not a trusting... |
