I cannot pee in a urinal (no matter how bad I have to pee) unless I am alone, so I usually go to a stall. I used to have no problems at all until the 8th grade. One day in school, I was at the urinal and a boy who used to bully me came in the bathroom. He saw me there and commented on me "pushi...

Although I am older now, I slept with a bed full of pillows and stuffed animals until I was 15 and my parents took them. I particularly liked a stuffed "Yield" sign pillow and stuffed large bunny that I had since I was little. Now I sleep with a lot of pillows. I like the comforting feelin...

I love trivia on just about any subject. Growing up, I played a lot of D&D and even walked around with a custom-made shirt that said, “Dungeon Master” on the front and my character name on the back. Growing up, I had train sets and still like them but don't have any right now. I also read some c...

Wow! This is true and has always been the case. I thought that I was the only one that didn't use peoples' names. I think that it is partially due to the fact that I simply don't remember peoples names. Try as I will, there are few names that I can remember and those seem to be only after I hear the...

Tony Attwood's book, The Complete Guide To Aspergers Syndrome, while not specifically for adults, is still a good resource, IMHO.

Yes, I have it pretty bad and have to sit up front or I get pretty ill in no time. My doctor prescribed some medicine that helps with dizziness and nausea. It's for my migraines but works none-the-less. Ginger Ale helps me too.

Very interesting. It seems like he is still discovering himself. I hope that he keeps up his journey.

Definitely don't over extend yourself. Make sure that your roommate knows what you can and cannot do and don't feel bad because you have/need to say, "No."

It's OK to think of yourself first when your health matters.

If I know that I am right, I do feel the compulsion to share that. It's as if I need to let others know. I do attribute this to the asperger mind. There are a number of topics that strike me as fascinating and I like to talk about them. When I find something that is interesting to me, I dive in. I r...

I can relate to not recognizing people outside of usual settings, ASD_Geek As for interacting at parties, I'll often find a comfortable place to sit, as close to the active as I can, and let people come to me. This reduces the demands on my social skills. Not recognizing people is very unnerving. I...

I also try to avoid people, even ones that I know. This is especially the case if I see them outside of the normal environment where I am accustomed to seeing them. I don't know why this is, but while at the store, I will even go as far as to duck down another aisle, speed up or even take a differen...

I do not like them. They are almost always very dirty. I have to wipe the seat, etc and use a lot of toilet paper to cover the seat if I have to sit down. Don't get me started on the automatic flush sensors :)
