Everytime I tell an NT that I have autism, they don't believe me. I've had undiagnosed Autism for almost 23 years... therefore I've built myself a LOT of compensation mechanisms, to the point where I think I do a pretty good job of hiding my Aspie quirks... usually. I also find NTs frustrating to sp...

I'm also on 5mg of Lexapro for depression, anxiety, obsessions, and OCD. Newly diagnosed Aspie. I was originally on 10mg but I started gaining a ton of weight, so I halfed my dose... and I immediately lost 5 pounds and stopped gaining. I feel okay I guess. About a 6/10. I could feel way better, but ...

I really do want to change. I feel like my social skills become worse by the day, and people I love grow more and more frustrated with me for not seeking help.

I have OCD. Your situation sounds more like paranoia to me, unless you have other OCD-tendencies that you left out. I am constantly ripping down/re-organizing things, I will have a freak out if my apartment gets too messy or disorganized, every item I own has a specific "spot" and I get flustered wh...

I probably drink about 3-4 cups of coffee a day, and I have for about 2-3 years now.
I haven't had any ill effects, just make sure you're drinking a lot of water too in order to avoid dehydration. |

I struggle with problem-solving as well. I'm a very avoidant person. If I see a problem that poses a threat or makes me nervous, I will avoid and avoid and avoid it until the cows come home. Not always very effective though because then important things don't get done... For example, I have Asperger...

I was diagnosed with Aspergers about 2 months ago now, and I have yet to really take any action in improving my situation. I would like to start counseling/psychotherapy to work through my anxiety, and to learn better social skills, but I am kind of petrified. I'm kind of a horrible concoction. I've...

I feel as though my melt downs are primarily caused by being over-stimulated, over-stressed, and having no appropriate mechanisms to cope with it. As an adult, I tend to melt down over things like too many sounds (big one for me), too many emotions, not able to understand why someone is mad, too man...

I find keeping a journal is extremely helpful for this. I've never had compulsive over-eating, but I'm an ex-bulimic and anorexic so I do have some experience in this realm. If you keep a journal of what you eat, when you eat, and how you FEEL before and after... you can begin to connect some dots. ...

Yournamehere, do you work on cars or just admire them? I just admire them, haven't got to open one up yet. I specialize in human anatony, and for some reason I find car "anatomy" intriguing as well. What kind of cars do you like.. old, new? What's your favorite make? And least favorite? I have this ...

I feel the exact same way as you do right now. I'm 22 and just got diagnosed last month. I definitely feel like I'd be having a way easier time right now if I'd been diagnosed as a child, and it makes me sad too. BUT.. now we know, and we can try our best to learn and improve. So in the long run, I ...

Hi. I'm 22 years old, female, and I just found out a few weeks ago that I am an Aspie even though I've known something was wrong with me my whole life. I've been living my whole life under the impression that I was just a socially awkward, terrible person who didn't deserve friends, so I've kind of ...
