I agree with most of what's already been said, especially what WelcomeToHolland said about non-ASD kids still having genuine behavior and emotional problems, but want to add one point from my own experience: sometimes, the "ideal placement" for a student just doesn't exist. Most teachers, counselor...

How to describe a meltdown... Mine is getting rare since 2 years ago. Sensory overload isn't of an issue for me anymore since then. In my own case, I'll be very overwhelmed, confused, frustrated... If my focus turned off and because of that, my senses ends up being heightened which it never helps. M...

When I'm angry... I either; shut down, or suppress them until the given time which it depends, or be somewhere and break pencils or whatever until I wear out most of my energy. Funny, people thinks I'm angry all the time when I'm not. But when I'm actually angry, people either think I'm going to cry...

I don't plan any relationships, or marriage at all. More so having my own children.
I'm fine with babysitting, and quite enjoy watching them grow... But I won't adopt or have one.

I think there are very, very, very few "bad" children. I don't believe that an NT 6 year old who steals is just a bad kid. I think the stealing reflects problems in his life- it's not his fault at the age of 6 that he has these problems. I also think the best way to deal with an NT child with sever...

Half the time I do, half the time I don't. Half the time I do, while it, half the time I really made people laugh, and half the time making people confused. And the other half, half the time I unintentionally made someone laugh; half the time I end up being pissed because of it. Goddamned 'halves of...

I don't feel depressed during winter, I only will likely to be feeling a bit sick. Physically. And that's it. And yesy, it's not an aspie thing. And oh, what I meant by winter, I meant late August to early November; up to late January to early February. I live in a country where there's no snow. xD...

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: illness, disorder or disability?

Can't be an illness, there is no cure, it does not kill, it's not contagious, it doesn't even make someone any less healthier. So; " No ". A disability to some, yes. Some really needs help to function, but some doesn't. In my own case, it's not much. This part of my answer is " Varied ". A disorder?...

I don't get female mannerisms either. It's not like my own gait would break someone else's back. Or sneezing would kill them (unless a virus IS involved, but then, I kept sneezing most at the time ... for the last 15 years straight that is, and almost not a single day without sneezing at all!! It's ...

I'm fine talking about the spectrum in this site; the rest of the internet? Not so. There are rare times where a very few of my friends (one of them is a psychologist, one of them is gifted, and one of them has ADHD instead). I won't mind if they questioned it first. But in real, I almost don't. But...

To strangers, I cannot. Big time. Up to now, I still can't.

But to friends, at least I'm certain. And they, too, are certain that no one is really hurting someone else: unless one of us forgets certain boundaries that are not to be crossed; until then I won't initiate any 'play-teasing'.

My NT twin would probably smart as I'm, but not naive as. Probably will be overly-positive but cautious enough. Assertive enough, but will not be posed as stubborn. Certainly knows how to please everyone, in many ways or another, but still keeps the pride. And, will, likely be, a bigger flirt and a ...

Bad title. The question is: Why some people mixed up children with behavior problems (NOTHING like ADHD or autism or children with real problems at home/public or emotionally disturbed/traumatized or any psychological problem at all; but simply, a very rebellious, stubborn, hard-headed NT children w...

I'm still different despite all the exposures I gotten myself at. Knowledge isn't enough for me to be within the natives. Even I'm welcomed or needed by everyone around me, I always have this longing feeling that I should be somewhere else... And this feeling waiting for something or someone to pick...
