If you want a college degree, you will have to take the core required classes (just like high school -- math, language, science, etc). If you don't care about a degree, then you can enroll in whatever courses you want. You can have an undeclared major. Some schools require you to chose a major after...

I wish I could help you, but I struggle with verbal communication even when I'm not stressed.I'm inarticulate on the outside, but not in my mind. My inner voice struggles to communicate with my outer voice -- with most people (I think) they are combined into 1, but for me I have separate voices. I h...

Bad Idea -- military is very socially structured (in all countries). If you have poor social skills, you won't do well.

I cut my whole family out of my life & slowly stopped interacting with "friends" because I've never enjoyed the company of others. Even felt a little guilty for not having a good time during family gatherings -- they are seeking a good mood being among friends & family & I've n...

This reads like depression way more than autism. Maybe, the autism difficulties has caused depression. This is what needs to be addressed & solved. Nothing can help autism until the depression is fixed.

What does feeling like x age even mean? Is there a way I'm supposed to feel at certain ages? Good question. I guess feeling like an adult (compared to feeling like a child) means not wanting to play children's games and with children's toys much, but preferring the adult kind of toys and games, and...

I'm not worried about anyone guessing I have HFA -- am more worried I'll accidentally offend them & then they'll decide to be my enemy without even telling me why. It happens frequently, so that is what I fear most. The fact I have HFA doesn't even register in my mind as anything important, beca...

Yes. I have a small time frame I can handle interaction, even online. I made a youtube channel, specifically because I needed to have some positive interaction in the world. My neighbors were giving me a lot of negative interaction. I was feeling all the negativity & fixed it with positive inter...

Lots of people say one thing, but mean another. Unless you get to know them & the way they phrase their feelings & opinions, you can't ever tell what they are actually thinking, because they are a stranger. You don't have the ability to read their mind -- no one has the ability to read a str...

A few examples if you like hard skill work would be: 1. welding I'm a female & learned stick welding, but had to quit the class I was in after 6 weeks (a 14 week course) because the learning environment was too loud. I ended every class with a headache & I felt like an unwanted guest rather ...

Most people wouldn't know that person is there to take notes for you. There would be an assumption that person is your friend. No spotlight would be on you. That would just be in your own mind.

I have HFA, & earned 2 BS degrees plus a lot more college credits that I didn't apply to a degree. I did poorly in school until college. This is because I can study at my own pace in college. I had no control over the pace before that. Taking college classes has become a hobby. With my HFA &...

Even if you were diagnosed early, you still will get people yelling & insulting you, because that is who they are -- it has nothing to do with you. They are quick to judge & yell rather than helping kids correct mistakes. Autism or not, all kids make social errors -- all adults make social e...

Halloween is the only holiday I celebrate -- don't even celebrate my birthday (not even as a kid). However, I don't celebrate it like everyone else. My way is to make a list of all the dead people that were positive influences in my life & take time to figure out how I can do those things for ot...
