On the one hand it looks like hand held technology steers people away from connecting with those right there with them. Looking down at a little screen all the time is pretty disconnected. But on the other hand, sometimes that technology actually facilitates a whole new kind of here-and-now connecti...

I find the best protection is allowing peers to speak candidly to one another without pressuring them or influence. When I was a teenager I didn't particularly trust adults but I was more inclined to trust peers and when one of them that was into drugs said a particular one sucked big time, I was i...

based on this forum, it seems most of them are, probably why people assume all of us are. not only that quite a bunch of them are very anti religion atheists. i won't likely read this thread again because it'll become an anti religion thread. The research on atheism and autism was literally based o...

I don't quite understand why people think autism is caused by gut issues. Is it based on some sort of research? As far as I can figure, that crank who claimed autism was caused by vaccinations had also claimed there was some sort of connection with the gastrointestinal system. I think this is just ...

But they don't seem to ever get a platform in the media. Take a look at this particular story: http://www.koco.com/news/teen-arrested-after-disturbance-at-norman-north-high-school/29504608 I remember when this happened. A student was interviewed at this high school and she said the entire school di...

Ok. So if one believes in the Big Bang then you would also believe that someone had to start it - God. Right? That is the religious point of view and Pope Francis said as much in his speech. (Maybe you agree with him after all ) Which means that an atheist couldn't believe in the Big Bang? No...

Fraud is fraud, whether it's taking 1% or 100% (or anything more than 0%) from the money allegedly collected to benefit people in need. Just like in Organized Religion, the people who run Organized Charities are scamming donors into making donations and getting rich off of the "Administrative ...

This is just another reason I'm glad I got out of the Catholic Church. The pope is not supposed to stand behind the Big Bang at all. He should be removed and replaced. Do you realize he's upholding the athiest point of view and not the Catholics? Everyone is getting away from the real point here - ...

[ Nope. I haven't heard any of that. Or to be more precise: I haven't said any of that . You're conversing with a Freewill Baptist minister. So why don't you take a little step back with "shove theology down your throat" and listen to how vindictive you sound. Quit dehumanizing us. When y...

The thinking behind this treatment is understandable if a little uncomfortable. There's a number of "funded" projects around the world looking at the link between gut bacteria and neurological changes in the brain. There is a theory that children genetically predisposed to autism who take...

Its Thursday, July 16, 2015 and were still here... The military did say the exercise would go for eight weeks so maybe they are waiting until August to institute martial law. The plethora of youtube videos documenting it will disappear and the people who made them will be sent to reeducation camps....

What I see here is a person who doesn't seem to have the integrity to actually state what his true beliefs really are, and who just wants to be seen as being "trendy" by embracing whatever it is he believes most people in the West accept as being true, even if, objectively speaking, they ...
