I think all my difficulties that mimic the above are due to executive funcion. For a w...

I feel the same If the essence of a person is beautiful the outside shines like the sun for me. I find conventionally attractive women dull ........looking at most women in London they just look like herons or cormorants in high heels and business suits on. I fall for lots of artistic aspie women......

ihear what you say Sparrowrose In my training there were some teachers who i hated being touched by, whilst there were some that make me feel heavenly. The actual application of the hands in alexander work is very highly structured and void of any manipulation. I love thi chi and practice most days

I have been teaching the Alexander
Technique for over 14 years.

I think my attraction to the work
/ vocation was to counter my
awkwardness in my body.

The formalization of touch, and
the very gentle and sensitive
approach it fosters makes it a great
tool for people in the spectrum.

I would like to add though that some people are more susceptible to it than others and also, just because someone is prone to b/w thinking does not mean they cannot counter such thinking and overcome their attachment to such thinking. One glance through WP an...

It is often really hard for such a person to intigrate this understanding of themselves. Consequently, if it is hard for the individ...

There is another issue here, relating to the disbelief others can feel to us HFA's and that is the shadow or persona. Many people with HFA especially those who have been traumatised into concealing their true autistic identity and personality, develop a persona to such a refined degree that they can...

To care what others think of us makes us human. To become attached to what others think of us can take our humanity away. I observe the aspie with less social skills generally adopting a "I don't care" philosophy" which makes perfect sense to me. I grew-up being humiliated abused for my unusual ways...
