Actually they have shown that at 40mph as long as you don't feather the throttle, is the most efficent fuel zone. Take top gear when they speed down the motor way, it burns more fuel, faster you go it burns more fuel. You know the more I think about what you did, to the car that was travelling in t...

I have never driven 140 mph in my 55 years of driving, including when I was a crazy teenager when I once touched 100. And it's more dangerous to drive fast in the dark, as in 3AM, than it is in daylight. Are you sure? Motorways are well-lit, and it's actually easier to see other cars well in advanc...

I like having people around. But sometimes I need space. If I'm stressed I shut everybody out, and don't re-emerge until my head is straight. That can take a while.

Yes, rules are rules and should be obeyed. However there is a huge amount of variation in the way speed limits are set. Indeed, some would argue that recent changes have often been about maximising confusion in order to increase revenue from speed cameras, rather than actually protecting anyone. In ...

Ugh, everyone seems to ask this question here...couriers, supermarket attendants, random people on the street... My automatic response is ''I'm good, thanks. How are you?'' ...Once I said it before the girl at the supermaked checkout had actually asked  Funnily enough it's the opposite here. ...

For someone who doesn't like communicating, I'd say that was very well explained. I guess the devil is in the detail, but as a concise summary that sells the idea as a whole, I really like it. Certainly as a Director myself, I'd say one of the biggest disincentives against running a business is the ...

I'm very sensitive to low-level humming and bleeping noises, like the whir of a PC fan, or a car alarm going off in the distance. I would rather they were loud than on the edge of my hearing.

There's a bit of a loop going on here. You say you were bad for screaming, and you were screaming because you had bad thoughts, and you had bad thoughts about what you had done. So what have you done, apart from screaming? Cos that's the reaction, not the root cause. I think your parents are being v...

Have you thought about working as a consultant / contractor for an umbrella organisation ? I'd love to be a contractor, but I think my skills are too esoteric (and I don't live anywhere near a city). Thanks for the suggestion though. You're dismissing this before you've even started. Esoteric is GO...

Incidentally, the biggest stress and uncertainty of self employment comes from the various Government tax collecting agencies (HMRC, Companies House etc.) Not because of the figures - I'm fine with numbers - but because their systems are such an illogical, bureaucratic f*cking mess. Honestly, if you...

Have you thought about working as a consultant / contractor for an umbrella organisation ? I.e. project-based work for clients, but within a Consultancy where someone else finds you the work. I did this for 5 years before finally going self employed. I did it as a form of aversion therapy at first, ...

I've never really felt capable of looking after kids. They're very messy and loud and chaotic and tiring and I think I'd melt down after about 3 days, even if I loved them very much. My parents have never said anything about wanted grandchildren but I do get the feeling they're a bit disappointed. B...
