It's a funny.
Maybe I'm so used to being ignored that I am just cynical. |

NTs don't know that they exist unless everyone around them constantly tells them so. Except no one says it like, "Hey, you exist." You have to pretend to hide the message by saying something else like, "Hey, how are you?" When an NT is faced with a person who does not tell them they exist, they get ... |

Sounds like you are doing a great job! One of my favorite parenting techniques is using "After you...., then you can......" statements. After you clean your room, then you can play videogames. After you do your homework, then you can have a snack. Repeat after every whine and objection. I had proble... |

It is wrong to grade children at all. What is the point? To tell kids how much they suck? |

I get frozen when I feel under emotional pressure. Try teaching him some sign language. Or have him write an answer. |

Has anyone else experienced a similar paradox, being high functioning with good verbal ability, yet have difficulty expressing simple feelings? YES! When I must talk about feelings it comes out all awkward and strained. It sounds like I'm reading out loud from a book. The more emotional I feel, the... |

I discovered aspergers in 7th grade and I think I have probably got it but I am unsure. I have social problems, eyecontact, gestures, expressions, perfectionist, good l... |

I only discovered the difference between empathy and sympathy today, so it's too early to tell. It seems that sympathy is when you've "been there," empathy is when you haven't been there but can imagine what it must be like, and you feel their pain or anxiety via that connection. Trouble is, I can'... |

I'm not sure what sense of self means entirely. But like others said, I know that I'm me and not someone else, and I know that other people are other people. I don't know if there is a deeper meaning. I have a hard time identifying emotions in myself and others, but it's not impossible. The concept ... |

It's not that you are unattractive it's that you are so obsessed with yourself. You look alright but to be that obsessed with yourself, shouldn't you be supermodel material? Just kidding, btw, lol. I should practice the "if you can't say something nice stfu". creed right about now. I'm confused, bu... |

You could offer to show him your diagnostic papers/medical record if you feel comfortable sharing it. Also remind him that it isn't his job to question the medical doctors that diagnosed you, his job is to help you with housing. If he continues to give you s**t, go to his superior. |

Remember my recent thread: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt72746.html When a therapist said I was too pretty to have AS. (pics removed) My face is not at all symetrical, I'm not sure how much you can tell from those pics.
