| Hi all, I could really use your help. I want to get a formal diagnosis of ASD and my parents believe that I have it but they don't see the benefits of a diagnosis. I tried to explain to them that it would be a tremendous relief for me personally and that it would make it easier to explain my quirks ... |

| I seek some input I.e. Touch, compression and avoid others ie sound. Sensory seeking makes sense as the term for what I do. Also to the poster who said they had lost confidence in their new therapist: self stimulation is the technical term for stimming so it's possible that they just forgot the coll... |

| Campin_Cat for college I plan to live at home and go. In terms of notes, I qualify for an aide/provider because of my physical disability which thank goodness is visible so they could help me take notes but I've done well in AP and Honors courses with basically no notes thanks to my auditory memory.... |

| Well there is a bright side to not "passing". People will be more likely to see your issues as legitimate and you're more likely to be diagnosed/have been diagnosed and as a female that's significant. |

| I feel most emotions. Sadness turns quickly into rage though. Pride is a hard one too, I'm more inclined to feel pleased. I have more trouble expressing than feeling emotions though and I think I feel many that NT's don't. I also don't understand dishonesty or disloyalty but I struggle with the idea... |

| I agree ASD mommy I just wasn't sure how to word it but it is like babbling just in an older person. I guess that's why I suggested a device but he may do similar things with it if he is still learning how to put his thoughts together into words and looking for input. |
