I agree that if she's not into it and had as much clear to him that it's time to drop the subject. That's what I did. Respect is a two-way street. She respects (or at least understands) the urge I have and I respect the fact that she ain't into it. Oh well ... life goes on. Still leaves acres and ac...

The differences only seem extreme if you overemphasize the importance of sex in a relationship. In reality, sex is but a small part of it. I don't know about Grue, but I am totally into everything my wife has to offer and try to give the same in return. Animalistic instincts are what they are, but h...

Just finished The Will to Climb by Ed Viesturs and am starting Above the Clouds by Anatoli Boukreev. Good mountain literature. :) Due to the Holidays, it took awhile to get through Above the Clouds but I've finished it just now and ordered Forever on the Mountain by James Tabor. Book examines a 196...

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about the reality of the situation or control the reactions of those around you. One of the questions you will have to answer within yourself is whether you want those close-minded family members to define you by a single personality trait (namely your sexu...

Thanks! When I was there earlier this year, I was a tad spooked by the two bad falls (one fatal) in the weeks preceding my attempt. My next try will be guided. :)

Hiking, backpacking and climbing are among my true passions in life. I discovered the beauty and serenity of the outdoors about 20 years ago and have incorporated regular mountain travel into the substance of my life. Spent about a month out west this summer, visiting mountains in Oregon, Washington...

It's pretty simple to me. I have no problem whatsoever rectifying Christianity and homosexuality. The real Christ was supremely forgiving of man's natural faults and tendencies (if you even want to consider being gay a fault). He died for us because we are imperfect. On many levels, organizational C...

Almost halfway through The Will to Climb by Ed Viesturs. Explores the history of climbing Annapurna including the author's own three attempts on the mountain before he finally succeeds. Good stuff.

That's the beauty of indoor pools at health clubs if you're close enough and can afford the monthly fee. :)

Swimming is great especially as training for other activities. I agree that the simple repetitive movement is quite soothing. I spent about 3 months earlier this year swimming laps every morning to train for a mountain trip out west. Worked really well but I got the mother of all swimmer's ear that ...

No. I completely suck at lying, which is why I don't even try. It also makes me avoid any sort of personal conduct that would cause me to have to lie. Odd though it sounds, I think I have probably made some better decisions in my life as a result of my dead pan honesty.

Well, a smaller league would also mean a higher level of hockey with the stars being spread out among fewer teams. I am satisfied with the product now when they actually decide to play hockey but I would much rather see a league that actually plays every year and if that happens to mean better hocke...

I had many of the same thoughts when I first came to my realization about AS. Ultimately, I decided not to share with anyone except my wife due in large part to the uncomfortable attention it would bring to myself. I like being below the radar and just living my life according to the adjustments I'v...
