Depends on the situation, Normally I have a "Need to know" rule meaning if my actions could be seen as off or sometimes inappropriate that could have a negative effect in the environment that I am in then yes, I would tell the person before hand (e.x.) my supervisor, select co-workers, doc... |

I would "feel sorry" in the sense that the kid may have a lot of issues to overcome in his or her life. but just for having Autism/Aspergers not really unless it's there's some MR or profound issues that would prevent that person from having a "normal-Functioning" life. |

It sounds like you've really made progress, Joel. It looks like your present company only cares that you can do the job well. Which is a good thing. it's a good thing I have an understanding boss and that things are actually going well for a change...kinda like a 2nd chance at life if you will Aspe... |

Hey Gang, I'm planning on scheduling a psychoeducational assessment in the near future and naturally I have a few questions that maybe somebody on here can answer. 1. Normally what takes place during a psycho-ed assessment? (Types of questions asked) 2. Can a proper psycho-ed assessment determine or... |

Is there any way the two of you can reach a peaceful truce? Helping to bring the groceries in is probably something you should do without being asked, but missing calls happens. It's certainly not something to yell at someone about. Well, I did not know before hand that he was going food shopping t... |

Hey Gang, So this afternoon a family member comes storming through the kitchen door cussing and yelling at me because he tried to call me three times and I didn't answer when in fact I never heard my phone ring. As he's going on with his ranting he starts to threaten me (which I know by now are 99.9... |

I think there's some what more of a stigma when one refers to a person as autistic vs a person with autism I know both are used interchangeably The only time that I would perhaps get offended by a meme is if it had a picture of adam lanza or james holmes because it's like saying people with asperger... |

I've noticed from personal observation that the autistics around me (Myself, and my brother) have various sleeping disorders. My brother (His profile is Name_is_loading) has Hypersomnia. While I myself have chronic insomnia... I've Researched and can't find much information. I think this is mostly ... |

I got to escape, I got to find a dark quiet room. Although nobody knew at the time that's how I dealt with my sensory overload. I was always getting grounded. LOL Their punishment meant a reprieve for me. I remember many times thinking how nice it would be that I would be away from people. No other... |
