Sounds good. I'd like to get a job in 2015.

I am a woman with AS who just does not understand the point of flirting. I have an online friend who flirts with me whenever we talk and it makes me uncomfortable. I'm pretty much asexual and with no sex drive (for reasons unknown). I don't flirt. I don't "get" flirting. I find it extremel...

Nope. It's the opposite. If I'm preoccupied I can't socialize at all.

Me either. Not that I can really socialize when I'm not preoccupied. I go into my own little world when I'm preoccupied with something and don't even hear when someone is talking to me.

m8, I'd do a brain swap to get rid of autism. It's done me no good in life whatsoever. Might be a different story if I'd been capable of marrying and having kids, and other stuff. Sign me up for that brain transplant. This has been hell on Earth. I won't ever have a family. I won't ever be self-suf...

The only reference I could find to "very gifted" on the wiki page said an IQ between 145-160. I googled it too and learned it refers to a 140+ or 148+ IQ. Wow. I didn't know I was that smart....

We aspies have an "organic" weirdness that others find off-putting. It's not considered cool if you stim or have strange incomprehensible body language or voice. It's not weirdness for weirdness-sake. Not a group or cultural thing. Frankly it's seen as a disability by most people and disa...

I'll give it some thought. Everything I want to do requires either social skills (not having ASD or freaked out by people), good eyesight, and a good memory. Oh yes, I forgot to mention my poor memory... I'll ease up on the minimum wage thing if people are having problems with that everywhere. I can...

Why some weird people are ok? The same why some people connect more to others. Add in a bit of charisma and the right type of weird that tickles the peoples fancy and you're getting there.

Before I start, I'd like to say I'm living proof that a high IQ does not necessarily benefit a person in life, and that I do not 'feel' as smart as I supposedly am. I don't remember the tests I took, except that there were a lot of them and I was very highly gifted. I think giftedness is classified ...

I'd love to be able to work. I want to be a productive member of society, but along with that, I also hate poverty and don't want to be poor. (I don't need to be rich, just not as poor as I am now.) Given a long list of issues, could I ever possibly work? And if I could, what could I do? I have: - A...

I wish they had something like that in Canada. I'd be right on board. Not employed currently but I'm working with an agency to find work, if I can. I don't work because of several disabilities including low vision, cerebral palsy, and a hearing issue, as well as ASD, OCD, ADHD, and severe social pho...

It's not an experience I went through, but being upset like that isn't an unusual one. For some, its at diagnosis, for some, its not (because they were diagnosed young), but occurs as they age. Usually, people end up finding ways of self-acceptance. You are yourself. Nothing more or less. You're no...

As an obsessed fan of the X-Men, I take the term "mutant" to be a compliment; it refers to individuals who have gifts and talents far beyond those of boring, average "homo sapiens". Being a mutant can be a curse as much as a gift sometimes, as Rogue demonstrated through her inab...
