This is a bit of a two-parter but here we go: I'm looking to visit a friend in the Netherlands in January (after the holiday rush though) but am having issue with flight pricing. Basically, I can afford the discount fares that are currently being offered for that time, but am unsure of my return dat... |

Might this be the experience one gets when they hear a person speaking in an accent they don't fully know how to do well? Where the person makes mistakes here & there that a native would never make? Same thing as any fluent foreign language speaker to accidentally slip out & make an uncommon... |

"But friendships don't come ready-built. The payback from friendship comes with time, and all friends start out as acquaintances, first." This is illuminating. How can you tell which acquaintances will turn into friends? How do you cull the acquaintance herd to pay special attention to those who wi... |

Particularly of the racial variety in a subtle way. I doubt a whole lot of outright blatant discrimination is common these days in most western industrialised countries, so I wonder about subtle discrimination. I in particular want to know what it feels like, or if I was discriminated against in the... |

Like hexadecimal except letters go to Z (= 35 decimal), with '10' being thirty-six in decimal. Starting at zero!

Why do you ask? :)
And pronouncing "November 10th" sounds so, clunky and, well, American. Yeuch.
Time formats is one of my special interests. |

How exactly are calendar dates usually pronounce in everyday life? Is it spoken as 'Thursday, the ninth of November, two thousand and/twenty eleven' or something else? I ask because dates are usually written with the day first (9 November 2011) there, whereas in the US the date's usually written wi... |

I'd be fully fine with it, considering I may have some serious flaw that I don't even know about. I'd rather know than not know, and fix whatever can be realistically fixed (or fix whatever I'd prefer fixing). |

I saw a thread I now can't seem to find, I believe on here, where someone said they believe LGBT people are often more respectful because they have to earn their respect in society as opposed to taking it for granted as heter... |

1. If I really didn't care for the person so much any-more that they'd be my ex, I'd be OK with them dating any of my friends.
2. I'd happily accept. |

Yes! I've worked for the same organization for the last 20 years and have consistently been denied the promotion I deserve. Seriously, just in terms of objective observation, I have outperformed (in almost every way conceivable) most of my co-workers throughout my career, but have watched a whole l... |

I believe my virginity is a symptom of me never having had any romance yet. It may not be as difficult to lose the V (due to escorts - legal or illegal) as it is to get into a steady romantic relationship where sex would normally also be a part of the equation. Having never romantically kissed anyon... |
