You might want to consider Toastmasters. Most people join because they have difficulty in public speaking, but it might also be useful for helping with speaking in general.

If you consider only two human attributes such as wealth and IQ, you might derive a saying like, "If you are so smart, why aren't you rich". The question implies that the only barrier to wealth is intelligence. If you consider that rich people like Thomas Edison and Bill Gates were able to garner we...

Satisfied people are less likely to be analytical and detail-oriented. I would think that articles selected for publication in "Psychology Today" are selected more on the basis for their ability to garner readers interest than advancing the understanding of human behavior. The equation of happiness...

You want to be careful, there is a certain personality type that loves to be a mentor, not for your benefit, but for their own. They have a psychological need to boss people around. They may give helpful advice occasionally, but mostly they want to see in you a reflection of themselves.

l'd say that it doesn't have much to do with sexism. She sounds simple minded and parrots supposedly clever catchphrases to give herself an emotional stroking. This is like emotional masturbation and it is embarrassing to be around someone who indulges in it.

Here is a definition of autism from the National Institute of Health: Autism is a physical condition linked to abnormal biology and chemistry in the brain. The exact causes of these abnormalities remain unknown, but this is a very active area of research. There are probably a combination of factors ...

It was not planned. There were glassware fragments in the acoustic ceiling tile for the rest of the year. No one was hurt, but the expression of surprise on his face was ironic considering how he presented himself as knowing everything.

There are a number of supplements that can increase, decrease, and inhibit the reuptake of brain chemicals. You can research various supplements and what their effects are and experiment (low dosage first) to see if you observe anything helpful. Some of the supplements have side effects and you shou...

Do you feel guilty, knowing you helped spread your autism to your child? I feel more guilty about passing on being short, fat, and ugly. However, having traits that make you unacceptable to a world destroying itself in a flood of dissipation may not be the curse it seems. Passing on a Christian fait...

“Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket.” ― Eric Hoffer, The Temper of Our Time

I am a Christian as well and sadly this also applies to churches.

Tip #1. When your seventh grade teacher blows up a science demonstration on hydrogen, you shouldn't laugh.

Tip #2. When you are beaten with a 2x4, if you can get the person beating you to talk, he slows down to the cadence of his speech.

I get it, Aspies are dark, creepy loners who are better off dead but people with Will's are just wonderful. Consider the etymology of the word "nice" http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=nice People are "nice" if they are; 1. Non-threatening 2. Less intelligent 3. Docile 4. Compliant 5. Eager t...

It may be possible that the delay before responding is not the result of an "empty mind" but rather the ability to switch off whatever process was taking place so the new task can be undertaken. This is somewhat similar to what a computer interrupt does. The NT mind might be less analytical and able...

(I have been diagnosed only one year ago and I still struggle with that label) Much of the struggle with a label has to do with how others react to you. People have one set of reactions determined by how they perceive you and this can be altered (good or bad) by how they perceive you with a label. ...

In the movie "The 10 Comandments" there is a scene where a prince of Egypt is working in a mud pit with an old man who is a slave. Middle school exists because of the changes children of this age experience. Children develop an insight and understanding that is as difficult to adjust to as if they were becoming telepathic. If they were suddenly able to hear everyone's thoughts around them it would be overwhelming. After a few y...
