As a general rule, auditory hallucinations are symptomatic of mental illness. However, what you describe sounds more like others have already explained. Consider how one processes music. After a song has played, one can have fragments of it replaying in ones mind (not a good thing for a bad song). I... |

There is an organization called Toastmasters. It was formed specifically to help people become comfortable in public speaking. You might find that some of the skills that you could develop there would also help in one on one conversations. |

I should have been more clear in my use of the term “relational”. I understand your concern about liberal churches in general where the term is employed like “community” and “diversity”. By relational I meant rather an investment in the lives of other Christians even in the face of difficulty. I sus... |

I also was raised and confirmed LCMS. However, I wandered away from the faith for several years. When I was 30 I thought to be fair I should read the bible. Slowly over decades my inquiries led me to a deeper and more full understanding. I think that you, like the Bereans, are on a more "noble&... |

Your son is approaching the age where he can begin to compensate for the mental constructs he formed as a child. Most children react to others and achieve an inner mental life that is a result of constant interaction and feedback from others. The Aspergers child is usually less influenced from these... |

I did not get married until I was 43. I did not start dating until I was 30. I knew that I would not have a successful marriage until I met a woman who had an unusual amount of kindness.
My wife and I are now in our 60s. I thank God for her everyday. |

The peripheral nervous system is two directional. Nerve pulses are sent out to control the contraction of muscles and sensory information is returned via the nervous system as well. The hand flapping of a child is often changed to something less noticeable as the child begins to understand how other... |

The suggestion beady made about time limits has much merit. In a way it is attempting to harness the conscious mind to gain control over reflexive actions. It can extend past time limits. For example, when I drove cross country, I found I would be inclined to smoke too much. I devised a limit of one... |

I found a better understanding of the Aspergers dynamic than can be found in traditional therapy is helpful to take control of re-ordering mental constructs poorly formed during childhood. While this does not make us able to lives as seamlessly as NTs seem to do, it does provide a framework for impr... |

I see Aapergers as a neurological variant that manifests in heightened neurological sensory and processing that in children acts as a developmental deficit. It is the nature of Aspergers children to take control of their inner mental development rather than the reflexive NT method of absorbing these... |
