I usually get on with introverted or shy non-autistic people. It's usually extroverted non-autistic or non-disabled people that I find difficult to approach because I find it harder to relate to them. I've known lots of extroverted non-autistic people in the past. A lot of them thought that I was a...

I'm deaf and autistic, and I attend a special residential school for deaf students where I receive support for both of my disabilities. I did go to mainstream school when I was younger, but I struggled to cope with the lack of understanding of deafness and autism from both my peers and teachers. I ...

My Gon-Gon's Hong Kong Cantonese accent. He hates his accent but I think it sounds so musical and different. I have a Welsh friend. She's from south Wales and her accent is so tuneful and sing song. And my Irish friend's accent too. For some reason, I really like country accents (UK). You can't say...

I'm usually non-verbal after a meltdown or a shutdown or mute in certain situations such as meeting a lot of new people (I'm very shy). I either use sign language (the care staff at my school can understand some sign language) or a text-to-speech app on my tablet which I always carry with me. I use...

Thank you both. My roomate didn't come last night (apparently they're arriving soon). I've discussed the situation with the care staff. They're going to speak to my roomate about my autism and will go through it with them etc. I will probably ask my roomate if they want to come to dinner (we'll be ...

I'm not religious but my family are Christians. My parents were brought up in Christian families and so believe in God. God was a major part of my mother's life when she was younger. She went to Catholic school. My father had "Godly experiences" when he was very ill in hospital. He felt a...

I go to a boarding school. I started in August and was assigned a room with its own bathroom meant for two students but my roomate was unable to make it. Since then, I've had the room to myself. But last week, the care staff working on the campus told me that my roomate might be coming tonight. I h...

Introverted. I usually feel exhausted and drained after a conversation or a discussion and need to "recharge" afterwards. I'm shy too which makes me feel even more tired after socialising.

That's awesome, Ezra. :D Nice one. I'm not very good at recognising sarcasm in both written form and spoken form. One of my friends is very sarcastic and I've taken what he's said when being sarcastic literally lots of times. I don't understand the concept of rhetorical questions and a lot of metap...

I've been chased by dogs twice before. I got chased in the park by a huge dog when I was about nine. It was this aggressive dog that kept barking and snarling at other people and I hadn't done anything to provoke it into chasing me. Another time was the neighbour's dog which gave chase because I wa...

I'm not sure if you're looking for my answer, but I attend a special school for deaf students that also has staff specialising in disabilities other than deafness too. The teachers at my school treat students with care and respect and are very understanding and aware of their needs. There is a spec...

I rock to songs by a singer called Lene Marlin. I think her voice is entrancing and beautiful, very relaxing too. I play her songs on repeat for hours.

Her song "Where I'm Headed" is my favourite song:

It depends on the situation. If there is one person and they are speaking spoken English and as long as they are facing me, I find it better. If it's two or more people speaking spoken English, I struggle or cannot follow what they are saying. If a person is using sign language to speak to me it's ...
