Why not post the standards on the wall for physical and psychological testing, and background checks and hire from the pool that passes? Being a firefighter is a highly respected job that often pays well, but the emergencies they encounter don't cut anyone slack to get reasonable accommodations for ...

If you are overly worried about nukes, Pyongyang could be bombed to flinders with conventional weapons. The water supply could be interdicted by a few well placed bombs. The power stations could easily be taken out. The best time to do it is in the winter when it gets really cold. ruveyn Most build...

It creates problems with noise ordinances, intoxicated people in public, fights/disorderly conduct, lewd conduct, vandalism, theft, and traffic/parking problems. My mom grew up close to a major legit concert venue and frequently had these problems. It could only be worse in places that are not equi...

It seems lately as if all the major superpowers are bulking up their militaries, apparently in preparation for SOMETHING BIG. North Korea seems intent on starting a war with the US, and once they do China will go to war against us. I'm convinced that the end of the universe is at hand. I'm seriousl...

if only NK had oil under their land. then things might've turned out diffferently. I doubt by much. It's not too bad of land natural resource wise. They have prospered in the past, but now they have a system that would still have 3rd and 4th world conditions even if they were given a place like Kuw...

Taiwan would act defensively since China is always out for an opening to invade. Japan has a decent navy and air force that could defend against NK's aging and low budget equivalents rather well. NK has a large ground army and some tunnels for surprise attack, but they don't have the resources to su...

If your Dad thinks you can be medicated to help with your Asperger's, by all means, let him pay for the doctor's visit, so he can hear from the horse's mouth that Asperger's can't be done away with with a drug. Incidentally, does your Dad accept that you have Asperger's, or does he think you are al...

which is easier- further negotiations to buy time, or the alternative? They will keep on working on nukes while they demand more grain, just like they've done for the last 20 years. With a new famine brewing, we could try to make them run out of moves before they have a working warhead if we were t...

what would china do if NK's leadership were made kaput? China is quickly getting sick of the whole thing. They would probably seal off their border with NK too. There's not much financial incentive for them to claim a stake in the matter. They already have about a billion poverty stricken peasants ...
