I prefer not to be a leader, but I will often try and take charge of a situation lest chaos ensue.

I don't want to sound "racist" but it seems like the only guys I seem to get "noticed" are mostly black or hispanic. It was a lot like that in my downtown area. Don't know if it's cultural thing or not. Most of the white guys or guys in my area are either hard for me to read, aren't interested, or ...

I have an interesting story to share, about perceived ugliness. I used to live in the Northeastern part of the U.S. I spent many years as a single mom, alone. Nobody wanted to date me, and if I asked a guy out, I either got treated like a slut, or politely turned down. I began to firmly believe tha...

She's not really a princess, at least not during the movie, whereas most of the others are. So maybe people relate more to the girl next door than a true princess? She's also not over-feminized like some of the others and wears more modest clothes.

Yeah, at least you got some practice!
If you feel you did well, maybe send a card thanking them for interviewing you. That way if more positions open in the future, they will be more likely to remember you.

Yes, I guess they wouldn't make pink hard hats if no-one would buy them. But the port-o-potty thing is stupid. It's funny that the union rep tried to talk me out of it, because at that time the same union was doing a lot of advertising aimed at women... at that time there was a big labour shortage. ...

I also wonder if 'not being comfortable' having sex counts as asexual--isn't it just a lack of sexual desire altogether? Just wondering...

It appears to me that the discussion of gender-based issues today has a lot of parallels to the discussion of race-based issues in the 50's and 60's. There is, for instance, always someone who declares that the movement (for want of a better word) has "gone too far", as if certain demographic group...

Anyone know that magazine called Psychologies ? I bought it recently as I hadn't seen it before and thought, reasonably enough, that it would be about psychology. You know what it is about? Make-up and so on, like Cosmo, only WORSE. It makes me feel physically ill, the fact that they dare to call i...

Yes, very feminist. I work with mostly men; many different jobs. When a man with less experience/skill than me gets promoted over me, or gets paid more, it upsets me. When a woman's word is considered to be valid by default just because she's female(as in he said/she said disputes), THAT ups...

I'm curious how long these obsessive interests last...
for me it can be just a few months, or years, or life-long.

It's interesting, I also go through Cosmo phases, even though I skip all the beauty and sex stuff. I think maybe I just read it to see how my life could be, and some of the articles just grab your attention, like junk food. Also read Psychology Today--definately a women's magazine. I also love MAD, ...
