Is sensory overload only when it leads to a meltdown of sorts? I have SPD, and I can say that usually my sensory issues are to the same degree. But there are rare, random days where I'll be much better than usual or worse than usual. For example, I have trouble with food. So there might be a day whe...

Wow, this thread... I came across this thread while in the middle of organizing a bunch of the tracks from Zelda: Wind Waker into a medley. In chronological order, picking out the tracks I think best summarize the plot/action. Keeping track of the length of each track and the cumulative length of th...

Hm, I'm not sure how well this fits, but my problem is that I have interests, but a hard time focusing on them.
It's really frustrating when I just want to sit down and read a book, but my mind is jumping all over.
I wish I had ways to fix this.

I would be careful. Do you have parents or.someone around who can notice difference. Took.those once. I got.depressed by taking them, it became so bad I was starting to have thoughts everyday about suicide. Dangerous stuff alright. Yeah, that's a possible bad reaction to them. My psychiatrist basic...

Even though socializing stresses me out, small amounts of it help me. I enjoy it. But I've always felt a strange distance from people. I just feel like there is something that prevents me from actually truly enjoying others. I can like someone, but at the same time and for no clear reason, feel some...

I'll keep that in mind. For a good month or so, I thought that yes, something was strange about me, but I had a hard time believing I could have Asperger's. But the more I read posts on this forum, the more I find myself relating to other people, and it's slowly changing my opinion, though I still t...

I read this so you know.
I actually like mushrooms too, but I haven't read about them yet.
I mostly relate to your second paragraph. I've always felt this distance between myself and other people.
If you want to talk about it, you can PM me.

I spent 6 months on Lexapro. It was not addicting at all. And don't worry about it changing who you are. No such thing happened to me. It just made me feel better. More like myself if anything. Of course, if your medication doesn't seem to be working for you, ask to try another kind. And remember th...

I get the feeling that I annoy people too, but I think that I don't. I even think I annoy my friends at times. The people that I interact with usually seem to like me, so I think that the feeling of being annoying is just me worried about whether or not I am communicating myself well. I get a little...

Artificial Intelligence: I just think it's such a cool thing that machines could learn and interact in the environment. The thought of AI with human intelligence is even more incredible. Technology that gains the ability to view the world as us. Who knows if we'll be able to make it one day or not, ...

Thanks very much for the replies :) It is appreciated

Out of curiosity, what benefits would there be to seeking a diagnosis? Any disadvantages?
I've heard for some reason it makes it difficult for people to get a job if they have an official Dx o.O

In middle and high school, I had a hard time learning math. In college now in Algebra again, and I have a perfect grade! But I want to do more than just rely on my college. So, if anyone has any great tips, or resources for learning, or overcoming fear of math, please post them here! I'm sure I'm no...

I have been diagnosed with OCD and Sensory Processing Disorder, and mainly have strange tactile and vestibular senses. I also have trouble understanding lists of verbal commands. Just to b...

It sounds like your cousin might have anorexia. When I was a younger kid (I'm an older teen now), I had a really hard time with eating. I still have a bit of trouble, and I don't eat enough. Even when my stomach feels like it's getting empty, I have very little to no desire to eat. It helps if I sch...
