I have nothing like the talent he has but I am very good at installing and troubleshooting, sound, lighting, and, to a lesser extent, video systems. In complex systems, I can visualize complex relationships between different pieces of equipment. I can very quickly visualize signal paths as well whi... |

I have very poor self-esteem. I have a hard time being around others because I never feel adequate. Strangely, some people that know me say (I am just quoting, I do not attach meaning): You're so pretty! Scary smart! But, then, I feel lacking somehow. This forum site helps in that I realize there ar... |

That is a peculiar observation. I am 39 (really)! But, I do look like I am in my 20's. I dress and listen to popular music plus I have a feminine look and soft voice. I have even been accused of lying when I reveal I am 39. At the same time, I am mature and even tempered and I love older people, esp... |

Yes, outsiders notice, although they might not identify the word "autism" with it. As far as cursory interactions (ie: banks tellers, cashiers) - no. I am quiet, shy. I have been told I talk AT people, not TO people. I am often misinterpreted. This afternoon I had a medical doctor's appointment (I h... |

My memory is designed this way as well. I am, in essence, continually collecting data. Defragmentation may be in order since this can be mental chaos. I do sometimes use it for devious purposes but nothing to violate anyone. Inadverently, I memorize complex but insiginificant data. I can 'play back'... |

My senses overlap. Endless loop screen savers, bright lights (fluorescent especially), and white noise (such as from lab instrumentation) will derail me. I am not an epileptic. I sometimes even feel faint if my senses are overwhelmed. Conversely, I am fascinated by flickering candlelight, glittery o... |

Oh, yes. I am afraid of strangers. I have hidden under my desk. I like secret places. One reason I like movie theaters is the darkness. I watch others vicariously. |

I am a loner. I relate well to animals, even plants, at social functions. But, I definitely prefer older humans. Sexually, I am attracted to Daddy-ish men. I have a crush on Dr. Phil but I do not like or watch his show on TV (except when I was home sick with the flu - I had a high fever). |

Yes. I sway in the lab. My excuse: The radio is on! At home I rock back and forth sometimes and I am only sometimes aware.....don't tell. |

I just posted but I forgot something...... Recently a man I barely know said in a semi-social setting (direct quote) "I just got back from Michigan, I married my sister." I interpret literally. I said, in honesty, "That's ok (I am not judgmental), but maybe you should not say that in public - you kn... |

I am very discrete; I feel no need to divulge personal information to anyone at all ever unless it is necessary. AS is not an excuse but is rather a way of being outside of normal parameters. Sometimes it is advantageous and this is where your focus should lie. I do have real problems though and I t... |

I am very sad for you. I love animals. A few months ago when I had my Borzoi (Russian Wolf Hound) euthanized (he was really old) at the clinic the vet made me lay down since I became faint and cried. You will feel better. |

I do appreciate your diverse perspectives and I take note - thank you. To clarify: I am female. In fact, I am, by nature, a very feminine scientist (ie: I have dark green eyes, blonde hair, prefer dresses, etc.). I mention this only because I am sometimes perceived as an enigma. However, I cannot al... |

I have an interview in the morning. However, I am, as always, nearly mute. I write well but I speaking is foreign to me. I am a strong scientist. Previously, during an interview, I could not speak and began to cry and even felt faint. I have been informed to request ADA accommodations (to write inst... |
