I respectfully must disagree with the OP. The current economic condictions are not favorable for aspies because aspies generally have not built up the informal "social" networks required to advance or survive in a recessionary economy. The "lower rungs" of the economy are being wiped out on a daily ...

New unemployement claims are the only measure for which the US Government has direct data, all other calculations are estimates. However, the fact that the long-term unemployed and underemployed are not directly counted means that the "official" number is not represenative of what people believe the...

And now the establishment will require a liqour licence, and increased liability.

My theory is that the resistance to change comes from the fact that it just takes a large amount of effort to get used to a particular approach, and that the more things change, the more things can go wrong. From personal experence, I can tell you that I can tolerate change up to a set point, before...

Treating the idea as a non-humorous concept, Is it possible that the hypothetical restaurant would serve as an "outreach" center for aspies who may be unaware or not entirely sure that they are aspies?

Admittedly, no one has ever "priced out" any of the Aspergia/Autfinity concepts. Most of the estimates I read were unrealistically* low.

That said, the basic concept does have some value.

* I realize that we are discussing a hypothetical concept here.

Are posters looking at this restaurant as a establishment to display the achievements of Aspies and to provide an aspie-friendly enviroment, or are posters viewing the restaurant as a way to humorous way to mock stereotypes about aspies?

Edited for clarity

This is not the extent of what has happened to me. I had a promotion deliberately blocked and opportunities blocked. Everything I say is twisted. I can trust nobody. Before I got this job, I was always considered, "abrupt, business-like, meticulous, quiet", all of those things, but before I got thi...

The price is probably relatively high because of the location (Modesto, CA), which is greater San Francisco. I'm impressed that someone actually got that far in working on the project, most other attempts have failed long before they reach the stage of actually lining up money.

Let's hope that this only lasts 5 years. The worst might not be behind us. If, as it now appears likely, that most of the post-2002 gains were fueled by inflation and did not really exist, then we have the world's 2nd biggest economic hangover in history. It will be very interesting to see who picks...
