Diagnosed with autism at 18 this year (would have been Asperger's if it weren't for the change in the DSM). I probably would have been diagnosed earlier if my mom let me. I also didn't know English early in school, so my distance was expected.

Do you have any sensory sensitivities? And so far, it does sound like it. I think you should go ahead and tell someone and try to get a meeting with a professional.
