Lot of people are banned from here and unfairly, I know some of those bans were reasonable but there have been unfair bannings. I go to Zomg and I2 and the people there have said they are banned from here. This was before Alex made the switch. Not all profiles have the letter X in them and say "ban...

I don't agree. If someone writes provoking messages in the haven, I don't think thats acceptable. The haven should never be a safe sheild to be a complete arse and get away with it. If I made a thread in the haven about all men burning in hell, I will sure as hell expect warrented hostile reponses....

There was one who stopped posting much after she had some problems with some kind of harassment a few months back.. which particularly stinks because she was one of the most well-liked members here. How exactly are you defining classic autism, though? Officially, I think the only current distinction...

People tend to accuse me of sitting home doing nothing, while actually I'm just thinking a lot or reading and studying a lot of stuff... Why do you have to get out of the house or be with someone in order for it to count as "doing something"? Because those people don't think, so they can't imagine ...

I think it's a very good idea-- it puts your need for alone time into a frame of reference that your partner can understand. Most people don't understand that need for time during which you don't have to worry about what people think or explain yourself. When there are people around, I'm always on e...

Oh, also.. if someone is unclear about directions, it's on them! I know that that's easier said than done, but if someone is going to get all picky about what they want you to do (which foods they want you to eat, etc.) then they'd better darn well tell you what it is that they want. If they say tha...

How do you define love? A lot of people consider infatuation and "true love" to be the same thing.. but they're not, and infatuation is something that you almost always get over. If it doesn't last, it's not love. If it's not dependable, it's not love. Obsession, however, is not required. You can lo...

That actually makes a lot of sense, that by the very process that establishes comfort for many on the spectrum (especially males, from the discussions in this subforum) it sets up the expectation of friendship in the other person. I think that speaks again to how the dating process is perceived by ...

Cologne or no cologne?

If yes, which one?

I think that's a personal preference thing too. Sometimes it can be more about memories it brings up. Which again, vary person to person.
Just remember: subtle! A little bit of a scent can be okay. An overwhelming odor is not.

Ew, do you always use IE? I guess that if you always do, it can't be blamed for having this problem once.. But as they say, when Microsoft makes a product that doesn't suck, it'll be a vacuum cleaner. Yea, I know that wasn't helpful, because I don't know why it's doing that--I just couldn't stop mys...

This is frustrating, because I want to jump in in support of some people, but I know that anything said can be considered offensive. Rules on discussions cannot be completely black-and-white because such rules would perpetuate bureaucracy, and lead to the kind of environment where there is no discre...

I get really sick of words like "epic", "fail" or "owned." I like "fail." It usually accompanies a picture that makes me laugh. I turned against those type of pictures since I was a de-motivate picture with an autistic child. There are bad and offensive jokes of almost any type.. they reflect on th...

My mother decided while she was pregnant with me that I must be an alien because I didn't have a normal circadian rhythm. I've always had huge problems sleeping, I usually wouldn't be able to fall asleep until I'd given up on it. Mornings were awful. Now, it takes klonopin, benadryl, and melatonin t...
