I find it incomprehensible that those with especially Aspergers Syndrome having human relationships and having a desire to be as sociable as possible and having all sorts of friends. I don't want friends that will stab me in the back, act like they have some sort of phobia about me. I don't want hu... |

The Hippie years into 1973. The teacher dressed the flower power part. Tie dye clothes and head band. Any way, I found "trouble" on my desk. It was a Styrofoam ball with tooth picks radiating outward - like a porcupine. If you found this on your desk you've offended someone. I found it more than eno... |

When you're in a state of passive isolation, regression, you're not doing anything in a day. As an Aspie or someone with ASD, how do you get out of it? What are your options? It's not depression(I think?), it's just situations leading to you being stuck and paralyzed in a way. Oh, it's not depressi... |

I am quite sure it is a consequence--something you learn, rather than something innate. Here's why: 3. Social anxiety seems to be worse the closer you are to neurotypical. If it were an innate feature of autism, it would tend to worsen with the severity of the autism. Social anxiety is something yo... |

There may not be so many people that have taken the step of trying to be normal as far as I have. Where you alter everything about you and discipline yourself in all possible areas, consistently in 22 years. How do you change that. Your head is incorrectly programmed, and that is hard to interfere ... |

Some NTs will never take a breath because they want to hog the conversation. Usually they are the ones who have absolutely no content of any value in their monologues. They are monologuing their un special interest. :P Moondust is spot on here with small talk. Break in there at the pause . You are ... |

Weird...I was just about to start a thread in regards to this topic, talk about synchronicity. I have always been a conceptual/abstract thinker with some visual aspect thrown in there. Only recently have I realized not everyone "thinks" like this. A bi-lingual person was mentioning how they usually... |

"You are quiet. Do you actuallly talk to people?" I was surprised to recently hear the "quiet" remark ( again). I spent time (much time) over several days in small talk and deeper conversation with a fellow; and I heard "that" again. I'm usually really taken aback when I hear this. But recently it f... |

Who remembers Videodiscs? Yeah. I had a "Laser Disc player" in '89. They were album sized DVDs ( 12 inches as you said) with a resolution of about 425 lines vs a VCR of the day with about 100 less or so. They were 2 sided and of course you flipped it over. The top side had a label and side 2, 3 and... |

A McDonnell Douglas DC-9. I flew on one when I was 14, from ORD to Minneapolis. It took about an hour. I changed planes there into a turbo prop for a much smaller airport way up north near Canada. I was by myself. It's a boring video unle... |
