That explains why his fans tend to know more about what is going on than the people that watch the other news networks... I would say that his fans and the people that rely on most of the news networks are all equally uninformed by relying on entertainment journalism That explains how the National ...

And as I recall, those were America's glory days. Well, along with Kennedy and Johnson. And minus Vietnam. -Bill, ...

The country has never been wealthier. The reason the upper classes pay more income taxes now as a percentage is because the political changes have given them more and more power to divvy up the pie in their favour and they're exploiting that power to the hilt. Now there's been an obvious subsidisat...

While most politicians have a background of being a lawyer, I don't think many of them are businessmen. I haven't actually gone through and counted, but my general impression has always been that businessmen are more common than lawyers in politics. OK, just looked it up; a whole ton of politicians...

The right has done a great job trying to force gays back into the closet, courting evangelicals and conservative Catholics at the expense of other more mainline denominations, making working people the bad guys if they unionize, and publicly attacking the loyalty of Americans if they are of the Mus...

Contracting government functions out, a favourite of the Small Government crowd, poses a far greater risk of corruption than any existence of trade unions in the public sector. Exhibit A - Blackwater. Exhibit B - that case in Pennsylvania where judges were bribed to ship juveniles to for-profit pri...

Communism certainly did enforce atheism as a part of the official ideology. That is not to say that all atheists are communist or even that all Communists are necessarily atheists.

@ Krauchgauer Seriously, stop with the fear-mongering. It sounds just like: "If you vote Republican Black Churches are going to burn." Fact: Justice Clarence Thomas was appointed by George H.W. Bush. Fact: Condoleeza Rice was the first African American Woman to be Secretary of State -- George W. Bu...

@ NeantHumain In all honesty Fascism has more in common with the far left than the far right. 1. Government escentially controlled the large industries (the fact they didn't control the small shops is irrelevant) 2. Repressed Free Speech 3. Indoctrination of the Youth 4. State Controlled Media (new...
