words Okay, I understand. I don't know how many times my mom accused me of "getting smart with her". I've always been very resistant to lying, because I am so misunderstood as it is. Sometimes I've tried to say the thing that a typical person would say instead of really explaining things. But that ...

My idea is that a misperception or misreading of rules, or others intentions, could cause a child or adult to assume one thing when actually it's something else entirely. The person acts on the percieved understanding and then in defense of actions appears to be lying because, after all, no one cou...

I'm never told directly that someone thinks that I am lying, and I don't know how honest I appear to be. I hope that people understand that my words and intentions are true. But I've recently become aware of body language, and I'm getting paranoid about it. According to what I've read about the gest...

It's not much to worry about, I think. People expect the first one to be awkward. Just don't stick your tongue in her mouth right from the start.

edit: err...I meant "don't", not "down"

She's probably noticed you a lot of times as well, so it should be a lot less weird to say hi. You should do it the next time you see her. Also, I don't think that what league she is in relative to you has too much to do with your looks, assuming that the way you dress is acceptable. It has so much ...

Forum: Random Discussion   Topic: Is changing from Male to Female Weirder than Femal to Male?

I didn't vote because it depends on what you mean by weird. Male to female is more common, so female to male would be weirder by that definition. Neither is more or less natural, of course, and I don't have a skewed opinion toward one or the other.

I appear normal to normal people until I try to converse with them. But of course I want to talk with people more, so I have a problem. And lately I've been having doubts, because when someone posts a video of someone with AS in these forums, it's always people who speak different from the majority,...

I figure that getting diagnosed could lead to therapy of one kind or another that can help you learn skills for handling regular people. I'm probably going to be diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome soon. I won't tell prospective employers about it, but I'll tell friends.

For a long time, I was just too clueless to know. But I'm experiencing this now. My interest is music, listening to it and making it. My work and tastes are very unusual, however. I hardly ever meet someone who can actually relate to them. Yesterday I gave a CD of my lastest work to a friend, becaus...

This was at a party for some friends that we had last night. None of us mentioned Asperger's, but it was obvious. It was really awesome to talk with a couple of people whom I could communicate with a lot more easily than with most people. One of them was a girl who I had met briefly once or twice be...

A therapist who I saw for just a little while was confused, one day thinking that maybe I had social anxiety, another day maybe attention deficit. He ended up giving me a diagnosis of disthymia (long-term depression--I couldn't convince him that I was basically born like this), for which I saw my re...

It's 4 am. I'm posting here, listening to Radiohead songs, and working on some of my music. My cat, Fluffy, is trying to sleep on my bed behind me, but I have music playing and the lights on.

That's what they put them there for. The bands maintain their own pages. I have one, although I don't have any downloads allowed.

Yes.

I wonder what it's like for other people. In what ways do normal people understand each other better than they do us? It's hard for me to tell, but it seems like they do have it easier.

You should check whether the light from the moon gets in his room. Other than that, if what I'm thinking is correct, it could be vaguely hormonally related besides melatonin. I think that people have cycles that follow the moon, although I'm not sure (not just females, everyone has them).

The replies so far don't gibe with what I thought you meant, but I'll answer according to what I thought you meant. My natural inclination is to be honest and direct, but it's led to frustration or trouble in the past. So, I sometimes try to estimate whether I'll be listened to or if I'll offend som...
