The levels are only there to help insurance companies and social care put a figure on how much resources are needed. Who knows what's going on inside the brain on someone who's Level 4, as you put it. Might just be a war going on and they can't break through at all to the world around them. I don't ...

I've not tried that one. A request. Please delete your answers. It is frowned upon to discuss answers. Those examples were to give you an idea, not for public discussion . You are supposed to work out the answers yourself without help from another person but you can use sources like Google. Same go...

^^ Anyone who has read my posts here knows that I have a spiky cognitive profile, with verbal IQ being significantly higher than non-verbal. With non-verbal I'm better (not good) at what would be fairly simple pattern recognition( to a lot of you) than I am at mental rotation . I'd like to say the ...

Would you mind using your skills helping me out with these 3 questions? I don't really get the hang of them. 1. https://ibb.co/5YhCL4b 2. https://imgbb.com/nMDRVbW 3. https://imgbb.com/vY10NjN 1.c 2.f 3.e All kind of the same. Just compare the upper with the middle row. Sometimes the same lines rem...

Can I ask what it is you do when you're not masking that would give you away? Do you start clapping your hands all of a sudden or rocking?

Wow, to say I'm out of my league would go beyond an understatement. I didn't start until I was 37 so I'd say if you're already learning languages and if we were comparing age-per-age you're a good 20+ years ahead of me. The thing you find about the work world though is it's 'sink or swim' in a lot ...

^ I should point out that my highest score is via a 'high range IQ test'. Tests done by people who have scored high on proctored tests and have a solid grounding in mathematics etc, but are not psychologists. They're aimed at those with 120+ IQs . A lot of traditionalists rubbish them because they'...

I am also one of the NT people here. I just don't think I have much input on what to do in social situations. I feel every bit as lost as you. I don't think anyone really likes cold talk. That part of sitting in a room idling with the colleagues - I know exactly what you mean. And it's like you need...

Without going into details, this sounds pretty much like the way Jason Lu does it. http://www.eikonabridge.com He's been on about video and pictures for a long while now. I have not been able to replicate the stuff he's done but it's quite obvious these kids are vacuuming information by watching ima...

6000 euros is a fair bit more than what I payed, around 2500, still not cheap. I wonder if it's more expensive with children, perhaps they need/want more interview time and tests to assess them? /Mats I'd say it's actually less, especially if it's classic autism. They knew within one minute he was ...

The label that comes first for us all is human being. I had my assesment right after Christmas and got diagnosed with Autism in January. Really quick process, due to that I did it privately and not via Vårdcentralen etc. I had had suspicions of Autism for some years, since my son has a diag...

I would definitely go as far as saying liking trains is a red flag for autism. No doubt should they include that in the DSM. Both boys are really into trains. Their cousin who is autistic is into trains. I'm not sure if it's the trains alone or the fact that they are lined up nicely after each other.

@lippe great post. You said it all. What puzzles me is why anyone would come into this forum and ask this kind of question. You don't come here for no reason. Normally you have some kind of autism connection which in turn would mean you pretty darn well know what it means taking care of kids with AS...

I also have to mention the rather huge attention gap between me and my sons. They can spot every detail while I can't notice s**t  It's a funny feeling when they outperform me. One quick example: Oldest son tries to say train but can only get 'trh' out while he's looking at an alphabet post...
