Underwater So-so sci-fi horror film, basically Alien set in the Mariana Trench. They even had Kristen Stewart and another young woman run around in panties like Sigourney Weaver. Teen boys should eat this up; others, not so much. The Seasoning House Oy! This British revenge film is definitely not f...

I agree with ironpony in that Hollywood has ventured away from dark storytelling, that's why I get my fix from Nordic noir these days. From Britain to Finland, Spain to Sweden, and France to Denmark, and sometimes South Korea, they're not scared of presenting the cold, gloomy, rainy, dark, depressin...

Thorne: Scaredycat I really wasn't sure what this movie was about other than it was a noir mystery/thriller which I'm sort of addicted to these days. This film was okay, a little on the slow side, but I've come to appreciate how these dark, moody noir films can build slowly. It was no detective mas...

Beauty & the Beast (2014) A new, and unnecessary, French version of the timeless tale. I only watched it because I'm a completionist even though I knew it wouldn't compare to Disney's animated version, and I was right. It was pretty though, and bursting with solid cinematography. The CGI in a l...

A lot of good has come out of this C-19 lockdown. 1. The food bank delivered two boxes of groceries to my house because they changed their model to "drive up" only and I don't have a car. 2. I'll be getting a $1200 stimulus check. 3. The internet company removed their data cap. I can now d...

Re: China has a lot of 'splainin' to do about their extremely low Beijing tally. It's been said that China is notorious for their lack of transparency, so a low tally would be expected. And look at North Korea, sandwiched between China and South Korea, and claiming NO INFECTIONS? Gibberish. Still, s...

Blood On Her Name

Small town indie crime thriller. They couldn't have spent more than $500,000 on it. The writing, as well as acting and cinematography, was very good, though, so you don't feel you've wasted 90 minutes with it. Recommended.

I adopted an aquarium with two angelfish and one pleco about 5/6 months ago when their owner died. Watching them is very calming to my nerves, except when one harasses the other, then it makes my teeth grind.

God IS trying to destroy coronavirus. Here's his prophet, Kenneth Copeland, bringing the wrath of God upon Covid-19.

Bad Boys For Life Yes, they spent a fortune on this movie, and it shows. Yes, they went out of their way to make it as frantic, hype and modern as humanly possible. Yes, they also made sure it was as loud as possible. Was there anything new in it? Nope. Nada. Not one thing. You've seen everything a...

I isolate anyway so this is nothing new. I do miss the occasional restaurants, though. Still, I have internet, so that's a plus. Also, I get food delivered from Amazon, Walmart and, lately, Schwann's. They sell frozen meals which you just microwave or bake and serve. It's not super tasty but it will...

Darkness: Those Who Kill That's an 8-episode Scandinavian noir from 2019. Atmospherically, they got most everything right - blues and grays everywhere, brooding music, depressing but picturesque landscapes, okay acting, characters with no moral compass, etc. Too bad the script was lacking in believ...

Machete and Machete Kills. Both films are guilty pleasures. You're not signing on to view an extrapolation of the origins of the universe or wax polemic with the philosopher of your choice here. It's just slash, bang, thank you ma'am from beginning to end, or as they say in the hood, "Hobo Wit...

Re: Religious Iranians Licking Walls Recently, the Iranian government has banned people from licking the walls in shrines, but you know how that goes - the Iranian police can't be everywhere at all times. No doubt, people will continue licking the walls as testament of their faith. https://www.ibtim...

Mother! - A Darren Aronofsky horror film starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Harris, Javier Bardem and a huge cast of wanna be actors. Complete. Waste. Of. Time. Even if the constant, perpetual close shots of Jennifer Lawrence wasn't bad enough, the ridiculous story would be enough fo...
