Let's face it, Autistics are not going anywhere soon. The majority of NT's are confused by us.

In my experience NT's have more trouble even knowing their limitations never mind accepting them, autistics know thier limitations too well and dwell on them.

I try and post both negative and positive articles. Posting only the negative only validates the idea that the world is hopelessly hostile to us and/or our autism is only curse. There are people here who desperatly need to see examples of successful autistics and supportive and understing NT's Posti...

I did not have to worry about bieng late for class on the other side of the building because the halls are crowded. I did not have to hold my pee all day because the bathrooms were not used as intended but were wall to wall marijuana smokers in between periods and lunch and I did not want to a reput...

I am left handed - WOT'S WRONG WITH THAT 'EY? Are they wanting to cure me of that too?! New York Times The idea of “correcting” left-handedness, common in the postwar United States, now seems quaint if not barbaric That need for conformity was one reason that left-handers used to be forced, often q...

While I do agree societal change would help, I don't think my kids would be better off in a completely autistic world though. My HFA husband finds our youngest son difficult to be around sometimes because he is so loud. My husband loves our son, but even then he struggles with him. And my HFA husba...

Even if the cure made me an uber neurotypical the change would probably be too much at my age. Most importantly as an older Autistic I have a responsibility to my younger autistic relatives and the next generation of autistics. The last thing I want to do is send a message that autism is so bad or t...

a big reason the GOP does so well in America, can be expressed in a statement h. l. Mencken made a century back: " no one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public " - or in what adlai Stevenson said in 1956, when responding to a reporter's statement, " ...

Happy New Year.

My hope for 2016 is that all of you find at least some level of self acceptance, and that our fractious autism community can find some common ground.

Many people, more than ever are going to clubs or prostitutes themselves to relieve some frustration. It's not like things used to be with good old normal marriage and whatnot. Pretty much every bachelor party I went to in the 1980's had strippers or prostitutes. At work hookers or strippers were p...

None of the clients of the London sperm bank were praticing eugenics because they were not informed. The letter went out to potential donors not clients. So even without the eugenics issue this businiss should be investegated for misleading clients. When you choose a mate it is on the basis of chemi...

I am not saying there should be typical admissions requirements but it is wrong to have none at all. The negative messages about autistics will be recieved from the combinination of separation from the population and no admissions requirements. Taking neurology out of this a lot of employers are muc...
