So, finally got around to finishing Neon Genesis Evangelion. About a month and a half ago... still inconsistent. xD It became one of those "life-changing" things. The ending just... yeah. One of the few times I felt like I could really connect to a main character and yet at the same time, find inspi...

Topic title is self-explanatory. I'm not quite sure how to go about this, it's complicated. Basically, I hate sex, hate hearing about it, hate thinking about, and wish I never had to think about it or act about it again. This is one of the reasons, I've found, I've avoided making a relationship with...

No, not really. I long for this. I'm just beginning to understand myself for who I am. Asperger's is really just one part of this complicated mess I tend to be. I can say for certainty my parents don't, and often they think they do which is annoying. They're too narrow-minded to accept me when I exp...

My TV is never on unless I'm playing video games or need to watch something so I'm not the only guy at university who didn't know how well our football team did during this past weekend's game. I often tend to slowly lose my attention in a tired sense. :S But that's also due to sleep deprivation as ...

I feel different from most aspies and most NTs. It's almost like I'm a little bit of both but I don't fit into either category. This. I tried to convince myself, "Aha, finally here's a place where you'll find people like you!" and soon realized people here weren't like me. :? I don't have all of th...

The thing about once having an interest in art, but no longer finding the desire to go towards it again, suggests anhedonia, a part of depression, which stood out in that post. I definitely recognize it, it flat-out sucks.

Do you live alone or with other students, or with parents, etc...?

In addition to what's been stated here, whenever you do catch yourself having a negative thought towards yourself, "correct yourself" and tell yourself the positive version of what you just thought.

If that made sense. :S

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Why is there no cure?

Asking for a cure implies that it is some sort of disease. Autism/Aspergers is a state of being. It's like trying to find a "cure" for being Asian. That is quite a ridiculous comparison in my opinion. I'm glad you are happy with your life. However, AS is a disease just like other genetic disorders....

Another reason I wish I had a job. I could ask to work on holidays. I live with my family at the moment, unfortunately, but I wouldn't mind being away. I'd enjoy it. Except for my room, I hate living here. Lousy employers, missing out on a perfectly good employee willing to work on holidays, all wee...

Yeah, I have to agree with the other posters, 17 was the worst year of my life. Although I'm only 18. It was the age I attempted suicide. :? I'd much rather just wish to start all over again, at a much much earlier age (mid-elementary school), with the knowledge I have now. Socializing stuff I didn'...

Loneliness is the reason I often slip to depressed thoughts. I also sympathize. I don't have the best of luck with it, either. One thing I've found that helps though, is that if you use facebook or social networking, temporarily de-activate your account(s) or something like that (even if it's just "...

Typical, not giving any logical thought to things... facebook's no different from the real world in this sense, and because you have an entire state (strike that-- an entire world ) condensed into a single internet domain, he's going to notice it more on facebook. I wouldn't assume facebook is even ...

[This thread might belong in The Haven too, but it's all a social-related question I need the answer to] So I don't know if it's because of Asperger's Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Avoidant Personality Disorder, or another related term, but I have some problems with socializing. I long for soci...
