Yeah that would be a literal and very modern translation but one that pays no mind to the era that Asperger wrote the text in and more importantly, it completely dismisses the context in which he used to word "automaten". Admittedly, Asperger had his own eccentric way with words that does take some ... |

"Intelligenzautomaten" is what he wrote but the translation got something wrong: diese Menschen sind, kraß ausgedrückt , Intelligenzautomaten. Which means that he wrote that calling autistic people Intelligenzautomaten due to their impairments in acquiring social (and other) skills intuitively... |

Most of those behaviours strike me as perfectly normal behaviours that non-autistic teens/adolescents display (today). Hard to say anything more concrete about it from such a short list/one that doesn't go in depth about the situations in which they displayed those behaviours and whether they had an... |

So how I understood it, my psychiatrist toled me that I have those 3 diagnoses at the moment and that those 3 will stand on the report in the end: - Borderline tendencies (I don't even fullfill 5 criterias how I understood it, or I don't know) By the sounds of it, the BPD "diagnosis" ought to be a ... |

As for me, I grew up with a lot of the people around me assuming that because of my autistic behaviour and the ADHD that I had low average or even below average intelligence. At age 17/18, some teachers still baby-talked me. I also got bad grades at school because often I didn't manage to speak/make... |

I feel angry with other people imposing their one-size-fit-for-all ideas of the spectrum on me. As an autistic person with a high IQ and the ability to talk fine under certain circumstances, I cannot possibly have impairments such as... I cannot possibly experience difficulties such as... I cannot p... |

I also have trouble feeling "comfortable" in the way that most people seem to use that word. I do not feel at rest, I am never relaxed when awake is relaxed means to describe a moment of not experiencing intense stimulations. For me, it is because of the constant stimulation (not quite an overload) ... |

Given the fact that most mental health professionals consider me to be a person with "very mild" and/or "extremely hf" Asperger's Syndrome but given that I am dead certain that because of my history and the nature of my impairments (and taking into account what people who know me best in real, every... |

There are several kinds of "rings" around the pupil and even around the iris. It is a ridiculously common phenomenon, so take that in mind. The yellow/brown/golden ring around the pupil (usually meaning no specks extending into the iris, no lines/whole differently coloured parts extending into the i... |

Curing intellectual disability... how? Who to "cure" and by how much? Would that mean making someone with an IQ below (edit:) 70 and/or a diagnosis of MR as "smart" until they just about no longer meet criteria? Give them an IQ of 76 (nevermind about those self-help skills) and wish them eternal hap... |

Motor difficulties can be a part of AS and milestones may be delayed. It's not a criterion but the motor difficulties (this includes walking, riding a bide, fine motor skill tasks, awkward gait, uncoordinated or bouncy way of walking), a feature that's often observed in kids and adults with AS. I'm not at all embarrassed when I actually happen to flap or jump up and down in public, but when I just think about that most people consider flapping, bouncing, flicking and slapping in a seemingly normal person like me a scary behaviour and that they get all kinds of weird thoughts about it as if... |

But then only if they do not get the diagnosis of SCD, because that rules out the actual disorder ASD, correct? From what I understand of SCD, you're right on that. But even if ASD is not described as an actual diagnosis,SRD falls under the "secondary" parent-category of...I call it now "being auti... |

It differs from the 'parent' category (ASD) in not... |
