Patrician 3 Rise of the Hanse and Patrician 4 might be what your looking for. Albiet the game is a mix of trade/economics and city building. They have realistic supply and demand mechanics. And your trading company has a direct impact on the prosperity of the medieval towns you operate in around the...

Anyone ever get into Emperor of the fading suns?

Quite a unique 4x game for its time. Great atmosphere and sound track. Was a bit too much micromanagement for me when I first played it back in the 90's as a teenager.

If I had more time i'd probably try to get back into this properly

Tropico 3 and 4 are relatively easy city builder games. If your struggling to get income early on what you need to be doing is looking at the raw materials and resources on your island and look to export them to get an income going. Even some small scale agriculture can bring you in roughly $5k of m...

Civ IV with all its add ons is quite a nicely matured game. But I remember its initial release was quite problematic. Some people seem to have rose tinted glasses on when they compare Civ V to IV sometimes. V has a lot of features I like but the AI at the moment is pretty pathetic. You can dance cir...

Have you ever tried Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile?

It pretty much is the spiritual successor to those series of city builder games

These are some pics of some posh wankers house n' garden in Suffolk. Traditionally these gardens were used by the servants to grow food. But as that need was superseded by better transport links to these far flung places they were turned over into gardens instead. Though they still grow food here to...

Civilization V: Gods and Kings ^^ Yaye, may I please ask Ravenitrius, as which happy civilizations do you enjoy playing? I believe that I am very enjoying a little game as the Celts, however I believe that I am not very skilled also. I quite like Carthage in the expansion. Particularly on maps with...
