It's terrible such behavior takes place on an autism support site. I'm sorry your experience here has not been a positive one. Take care! What is kind of ironic is that a lot of autistic people are genuinely trying to be helpful, but due to being too direct and speaking what they think they come of... |

I'm very aware that at some point I need to work on reducing her sugar habit, but I figured that this was not the time to do it, as she's still adjusting to not having the usual bread and doughnuts and the like. Hence the gluten-free cookies. Will probably wait a week or two for her to settle into ... |

You can call it constipation only if there are issues like bloating, discomfort, pain. For a lot of people once or twice a week is totally normal, depending on their genetics and diet, especially for those who don't consume a lot of dietary fiber. |

Blaming and fear mongering is not new. It was the same with books, comics, radio, movies, television. Now it's internet/social networks. Nothing new here. Social networks don't make people depressed. Depressed people turn to social networks to cope. Internet doesn't destroy the world, sh***y people ... |

The internet is good for some things but it is now destroying mankind, because we are letting computers take over. The internet has so much false information that it's hard to know what's false and what isn't, which is very anxiety-triggering. There is just as much false information as it was in an... |

I’ve honestly lost interest in the things that used to give me joy. I can’t watch anime without feeling put out that I have no one to watch it with me or why being a fan of a particular show didn’t translate to friendships while it did for others, I haven’t touched any of my video game consoles in ... |

Argh, I tried to start my 17yo daughter on the elimination diet - but getting her to stick to the right food is impossible. She has zero impulse control, and seems to be addicted to processed junk. Last night my son got given some cookies with various coloured icing on them. You know the artistic o... |

That's interesting. As a T1 diabetic I've always been told that T1 is an autoimmune condition and unaffected by lifestyle, which as far as I know is true. You inherit a genetic weakness but it takes illness or trauma to trigger it, and then your immune system cripples the pancreas. BUT if athletes ... |

Why do you want all that? If the answer is happiness, you are getting it all wrong. Why wouldn't you want that? Those all seem like pretty reasonable desires from a human life to me. Because people don't realize these things are not truly end in itself, they don't make you happy. To achieve and enj... |

That's 50% of it. The other 50% is being able to risk a bad outcome and not mind if it does turn out bad. The confidence to experiment, and to screw things up sometimes, without caring too much. That doesn't have a direct dopamine reward. Being able to encounter negative experiences and NOT take th... |

To my mind, happiness is the stage where you're willing to try new things, and it doesn't matter whether they end up being good or bad. It's having that confidence to just try stuff, knowing you'll handle the outcome regardless, and you'll have learned something in doing so. Even if it's only, &quo... |

Why do you want all that? If the answer is happiness, you are getting it all wrong. Happiness is ability to experience positive emotions and enjoy life. Girlfriend can't make you happy. On the opposite, if you are happy, your happiness will attract a woman, you will be able to share your happiness a... |

I’ve been taking my medicine I normally take for sleep (40 mgs of citalopram) during the day to see if it would make a difference in my mood but I still feel depressed and unhappy. Something about my brain just refuses to work with antidepressants. This is serotonin reuptake inhibitor. For it to wo... |

Fast/slow metabolism is mostly myth. Genetic factors play a role, you might gain more/less weight eating the same food compared to a person with different genetics, but long term big picture outcome depends mostly on your dietary preferences. Insulin response is one of the most prominent factors. If... |

Jesus christ... You're a keto zealot if I ever met one. Ketosis is not magic. I know ketosis is not magic. It is just a metabolic state. What I'm talking about is science. I can see you are more informed than most people I know, but still some of your information is outdated or doesn't take ketosis... |

I've been drinking vitamin water for electrolytes. I would agree that I'm not in full ketosis as I'm still drinking coffee and not the most strict but something is still propelling the fat loss. I'm losing about 4 pounds per week and I see muscle being built. I expect the loss to level off of cours... |
