Just published, this was a recent experiment test of PBR theorem to determine the epistemic versus ontic status of ψ: If a physicist claims to have produced a system with a particular wave function, does this represent directly a physical wave of some kind, or is the wave function merely a summ...

What do it mean for a part of the Universe to be "connected" instantly with another if it exclude FTL comminication? The just of the article is that the hidden/private quantum signals that exist between entangled particles/systems cannot remain hidden if the speed of these "private lines" is anythi...

Interesting, a Bell-like inequality for hidden variables and non-local influences between entangled particles. Yet, quantum mechanics seems to predict the violation of that inequality as well. Well, there goes Bohm's interpretation of quantum mechanics. This isn't accurate. It doesn't affect Bohmia...

This was just published in Nature Physics . It argues that barring loopholes (unlikely), if the non-local effects observed in Bell-type experiments propagate at any finite speed, then non-locality could be exploited for superluminal communication ('can't stay hidden'): The new hidden influence inequ...

There are a few papers suggesting that introversion is a milder/non-clinical form of Autism: The conceptualization of the personality construct of introversion has been problematic since the term’s inception due to the complexity and seemingly self-contradictory nature of the collection of attribute...

I've been on it for over 2 years. No side-effects at all. Not much noticeable effect on anxiety. Although it rarely occurs, I experienced increased sex drive. Usually the opposite occurs.

I was on it for 8 years. It helped with anxiety but made me sleepy and a bit forgetful. Eventually I did build up tolerance to it and abused it so my doctor switched me to lexapro (Cipralex) in Canada.

Some interesting papers discussing this issue: A. Against/avoiding singularities : There is no horizon, from which no escape of matter or radiation is possible and black holes as singular points of infinite density cannot exist. Instead every spherically symmetric gravitational collapse can find a f...

Too much concern with philosophical matters will cause Brain Rot. Without interpretation, physics is just a piece of mathematics. Not very interesting to me, any way. Even Fuchs who paid lip service to "Quantum theory needs no interpretation" recently acknowledged trhe importance of interpretation/...

A pretty good free download book on the merits or lack there of can be found below. For a pretty good critical position see Maudlin's Chapter 4: "Can the World be Only Wavefunction?" Many Worlds? Another interesing write-up in Nature on the PBR no-go theorem: The paper, thought by some to be one of the most important in quantum foundations in decades, was finally published last week in Nature Physics (M. See useful diagrams in this thread in SAD forum (post 3 + 5) that kind of helps differentiate between the two: I've been diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome. I think I'm starting to accept it. http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/forum/f33/ive-been-diagnosed-with-aspergers-syndrome-i-think-im-starting-...

Sometimes it gets so bad that I feel like other people/social stuff/work/family are a total and unwanted distraction. And when I get disturbed I get very annoyed. The only thing is I need is breaks for food, washroom, sex and observe or walk in natural landscapes. The weird thing is that when I was ...

I'm not sure if this is normal but I think I'm obsessed about learning/reading stuff, to the point that I feel greedy and wanting to drown in it, kind like some people would feel when they find a huge chest of gold. It's not all learning just certain science/philosophy of sciene stuff. Even at work,...

I'm kind of persuaded by those that suggest that math ability like other cognitive abilities are biologically-given, innate structures. The argument (at least with those who view mathematics as a cognitive module of our mind/brain) is that both language and mathematics have the property of "discrete...

I think that people who talk about "free will" are basically just confused. If you carefully pick apart the concepts surrounding the issue, you find that people actually agree on the relevant facts. FACT 1: My behaviour, as seen from the outside, is entirely consistent with physical laws. FACT 2: I...
