Why do people assume there are hidden meanings in what I write and jump to the wrong conclusions? I have had two of the longest partial shutdowns I have ever had recently, so I was not able to work out what had happened and why. I am still a bit in a daze and fragile over it. If I have upset anyone...

Well I read at a highschool level when i was 8 so?? Borderline hyperlexic maybe. I also have dysgraphia which can sometimes interfere with my writing. As for my writing my teachers always praise my essays. If you define it as reading before age 5 i don’t have it. I don’t think you can consider it h...

I doubt that it would work. People won't necessarily become friends just because they are all autistic. You could end up with loud sensory-seeking people living next door to sensory-sensitive people, which would cause friction. You'd have to vet people's symptoms and hope they are telling the truth...

Hmmm...you want an "owner's manual" for your emotions? Or maybe "a field guide" for identifying your emotions? Like a birdwatching book for your emotions? :D
If only it where that simple.

That is what money is for.

Would you relocate to live in a community designed by and for people on the spectrum? I'm thinking small like a co-op primarily for people who are self-supporting. Chronic loneliness is something many of us suffer from our entire lives, it would be nice if we didn't have to. I’m not self-supporting...

It is and was a major thing for me to try to put feelings into words. Most surface things I can describe, but some things like the shutdowns it took me nearly all my life until recently to be able to explain it and find people (You lot on this site and my local autism team who only a year and a hal...

Hey all, So I'm wondering and I'm sure likely not alone in wondering this but I'm wondering if anyone if familiar with some material useful in matching things such as lyrical devices to emotions associated with the use and structure of this, such as creative writing and developing a mental scenario...

I wrote an essay on this subject. Personally, I think I score liek this Musical-rhythmic and harmonic: Low - I don't understand music very well and am not very sensitive to pitch rythm etc. Visual-spatial: Extremely Low - I have Aphantasia. also In general I tend to score low-average on spatial rea...

When I was younger I definitely had more of a need for sameness, but now I think that sudden changes definitely affect me especially major ones but for the most part I don't really need it but it definitely has a negative affect on me. These days it doesn't bother me nearly as much. I used to be so...

sensory issues and/or asperger syndrome? Is there a particular language people use to talk to people on the spectrum that bothers you? And if so what would you say to them? what should people never say to us? I am not quite sure what you are asking. Can you be more specific in what you mean? i mean...
