I use to believe that NT understood the social world and then I started reading more and more. All the great novels and history books I could get my hands on. NTs are screwed up and make the world a very difficult place. Not all, there are many good people in the world. As to your father, he should ...

The temper tantrum in the beast is relevant to establishing criminal intent, i.e. the violent attack on the Capitol was the goal of the twice impeached former defeated ex-president.

I am glad that I went scuba diving and traveled the world when I was a young man.

Those memories keep me warm on cold nights

I have been micro-dosing for about 9 months, 0.2 grams once or twice a week. And a few 0.5 grams as well. The experience has been fun. Occasionally, they knock an old demon loose and I have to put it back into its cage. In general, I found micro-dosing helpful in understanding empathy and other peop...

I feel the same way. I am avoidant and have social anxiety. What I am told by many is something simple. Most NT's do not remember the little mistakes or bigger ones. Since they also screw up frequently.

I live in a state, that the models predict a very high death rate per 100k people, exceeding New York. The numbers are terrifying and difficult to understand why New Jersey is so vulnerable. I have taken precautions, put an emergency letter by my front door, arranged my documents and trying to keep ...

For many of us here, grocery shopping has all ways been stressful. With the current health crisis, grocery shopping has gone nuts with long lines, empty shelves, stressed-out people and health safety concerns. I am trying to change my shopping habits. Cut back on food a bit and only going out when I...

Life can be difficult, especially when we are faced with an extra burden to carry. Anxiety and depression have been with me for as long as I can remember. I had a GP who would blame my physical pain on depression. That drove me nuts, pain and depression go hand in hand. Each feeding off the other. I...

The other reason is my fear of being told that I am a flaming as*hole and autism is just an excuse for my failures. My ASD coach kindly tells me I am very "genuine" (and, yes, I am aware that a*hole is the other perspective). I don't like being the "cause" of my failures regardl...

I gave this some thought over the last 24 hours and came to a few conclusions. There is the obvious cost-benefit type of reasons, given my age, social and financial situation. But that is not the real answer. First, I am deathly afraid of exposing myself to another person, especially, mental health ...

I probably fit into all the categories and stereotypes describe above. The reason I never found love is not because of society's biases. The problem is entirely mine. Programmers/Engineers/Bookworms/Eggheads ... are not unattractive by nature. We may not get the trophy mate, but I tell you, trophies...

Acknowledging that you are ignorant and even stupid is a great way to face the world. The older I get, the dumber I feel.

To quote a great age: "Stupid is as Stupid does"
Forrest Gump

If you think you are stupid and do nothing to improve yourself, than you have a problem.

I find reading to be very helpful in countering my bias. Spending time in someone else's brain help me see thing differently. The real problem I have is understanding the large sway that emotions have on people's behavior.
