I believe my father is a level zero, at least in the environment he created for himself. He don't really need to do anything but stay at home and search the internet. No need to have visitors. Not a lot of things going on in the village we live in. 3000 inhabitants. He only needed to bike between hi... |

I'm thinking my sensitivity to such things is erratic, and possibly not totally related to the laptop. So far this morning I can't hear that noise . Last night in bed I was hearing a similar noise as the 'laptop' noise . It's going to get to your head, I know exactly what it's like  Also this:... |

Myself: no speech till age 5. After age 5: Aspergian presentation, not “classically autistic” presentation. You were diagnosed as a kid with a condition that at the time was the same thing as being put away in a mental institution without any hope? Did they doctors and people around think the chang... |

Are people with classic autism more impaired then those with Aspergers? I have a diagnosis of classic autism. Would you mind giving some details about your diagnosis? What age were you when you were diagnosed and what difficulties did you have as a toddler? Late talker? obliviousness? I have two bo... |

Alright! We'll see how long it takes before it really gets under your skin.
(Also expecting someone step in to point out some facts regarding frequencies a dog can hear in comparison to humans) |

That's not ok if you bought a new laptop. Is it coming from the fan? Sometimes it's the soldering that causes these high tones as electricity tries to pass. Then there's also the electronic converter/transformator that could be the source. I totally know what you're saying. The high pitch sound is u... |

If you suspect your daughter has autism, it's probably what's going on. Parents' feelings are a strong first indication. Our second son, now 26 months old, was developing totally different from our first. However, both were quite social up until 12 months, where they would love looking at people and... |

Jason Lu may be too humble to promote this but his methodology in bringing up children with autism is really quite groundbreaking http://www.eikonabridge.com/ My only regret is I discovered this so late! Strongly encourage parents to read Jason's methods and spend less time reading about Lovaas, Ba... |

Actually I think the unemployment rate along autistic people is actually 80+%. http://www.thinkingautismguide.com/2018/02/why-is-autistic-unemployment-rate-so.html?m=1 Honestly,I wouldn't get my hopes up that people on the Autism Spectrum will get that much more opportunities anytime soon,if ever i... |

The number is likely wrong, because it presumably does not include undiagnosed autistic people and undiagnosed autistic people are on average less severely affected or better able to compensate for their impairments. They stayed undiagnosed because they managed to get through school without needing... |

I read somewhere that 75% of autistics are unemployed. I think that number is wrong. I know several people with autism that are productive and extremely valuable members in the work force. My father used to be one of them before retirement. He's not diagnosed but it's obvious he's on the spectrum. H... |

My mum has some sort of PTSD from her childhood upbringing, as her father was a severe alcoholic and always displayed frightening and abnormal behaviour. Then she went and had 2 children; me with Asperger's and ADHD, and my brother with depressive disorder and possible Asperger's. So my poor mum ha... |

I am clearly among those 18% suffering from PTSD. In the evenings I'm having this enormous pressure in my throat and chest which leaves me exhausted. It's not connected to my boy having challenging behaviors, it's rather caused by the uncertain future and all the confusing information coming from al... |
