"Intellect" is not based on innate ability, because there's no such limiting thing. The human brain is constantly rebuilding itself, and when it does, it makes new connections, deletes some, adds neurons, deletes neurons. Be unhealthy, take mind-affecting drugs, alcohol, then your intelli...

Kim Peek (Rain man) knows a lot of things, doesn't mean his IQ is high. A distinction must be made between 'fluid' and 'crystalised' intelligence. The former declines with age while the latter increases. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluid_and_crystallized_intelligence Fluid intelligence or fluid re...

I suspect it's not intelligence as such that turns people off, it's the (often damaged) loopy personalities that come...

I think IQ is typically proportional to age, a bit like you'll test much better to get the same score at age 25 than at age 10. I say that because I know I had a lot more horsepower at 26 than at 8 or 9 but still got the same # or something really close to it.

Yes, it seems that way.

The guy in the video did not make the post, so I was not addressing the guy in the video. So if the video is not using an ad homenim then what's the problem here? What's wrong with "I have an argument but this guy already said it really well so I'll just put that here". From the looks of ...

And what about all those times your dreams did not predict anything in reality? Good question. It is a well known fact that our minds will recall events that have meaning for us personally, but fail to recall a very large percentage of the "misses" that occur when it comes to matching wha...
