Sadly it's not just about age and looks. A lot of the women 30+ in my area on the dating sites have kids and are blatantly looking to latch onto a guy for his money. I've seen situations where it's not so much you dating a woman, but her and her clan of 3+ kids with pretty much no hope of having so...

It's not that men are any less successful. It's that men on dating websites seem to far outnumber the women on those same websites. If there are 100,000 men looking for a date, and only 1,000 available women, and 99% of the women find dates, then that means that 990 women have found dates, and so h...

This research has proved once again - social network and dating sites may be good for women to find a boyfriend, but not vice versa. You do realize that simple math refutes this statement, right? If a women finds a boyfriend on those sites, then her boyfriend is a man, meaning that he also found a ...

I really wanted to respond to this, because it sounds very similar to what I went through several years back. Every response I write just doesn't sound good enough though - I'm usually really good at phrasing my thoughts on paper, but today I'm just coming up empty handed. In short, I don't think yo...

Pictures have been a problem too since my hobbies usually involve me at home or doing something on my own. There aren't too many roleplayers around here for example. The best pictures I usally have are close ups since I sometimes end up taking selfies with the dogs and kittens I play with at the Hu...

Here's my two cents: 1.) Your profile comes across somewhat negative and antagonistic. Take out the entire paragraph about the Bible belt and not having anything to do on weekends - it doesn't add anything to your profile and sounds like complaining. Also, the bit about being a geek is fine, but don...

Major piece of advice: Remove this section: "Lookswise short, white or light tan skin, dark brown eyes, brunette or black hair, skinny to slightly overweight." It makes it sound more like you're ordering a custom-made vacuum cleaner from Amazon than looking for a partner. I'd also take out...

I used to play it sometimes, but the wait times killed the fun for me. It'd take forever to get into a game, and then there would usually be at least 2-3 players that would take 15-20min to load into the game so that we could start playing. At that point, I'm already too tired from waiting to even p...

Well, strong acids complicate this, guess its back to the drawing board. I'm pretty set on being able to incinerate plastic, or really any waste I generate. I assumed that by raising something like plastic to a high enough temperature, I'd destroy the chemical bonds that made it plastic, release a ...

You have to go to an ABET-accredited school. You don't have much chance of getting a good job if you don't - it's basically a validation of the degree and ensures that you have a certain amount of knowledge and capability when you graduate.

Well as an engineer who deals with fairly similar systems frequently, I can throw in my input. First off, what exactly is your goal with this? Is it to "live green" by converting your solid waste to vapor? If so, then I wouldn't put my money on it. For one, many of the household wastes tha...

That's probably the main reason you haven't been receiving any replies. Messages like that don't open themselves to further conversation.

You say that it was the worst decision, but I don't see anything that suggests that...only a lack of success thus far. It probably has far less to do with you than you think it does, and even the most successful people on those sites don't get responses from everyone. It is common to get a 10% respo...

I've written ten friends/acquaintances asking each of them to the opera with me. Praying to GOD one of them accepts. Christ you know you're a loser when even the offer of a free front row concert ticket isn't enough to convince someone to go with you. I hate myself. Most Americans hate opera. I wou...

Are those 7-8 messages short one-sentence replies, or are they a few paragraphs a piece? If the former, then they're probably not interested and just replying to be polite, or your messages are not conducive to conversation. If the latter, then you should have asked them to meet up by that point, an...
