Psychotic disorder NOS, Borderline Personality Disorder...

The last one is so contradictory to my personality it's funny.

When it occupies me to the degree where I lose sleep, forget to do important day-to-day things and fail to prioritize (which I'm crap at anyway), then I'm overwhelmed. All these things can lead me into shutdown, so special interests can be a problem for me if they get too intense.

If I had a catflap in the house... I'd be tempted to try this on my cat.

Reminds me of the clingfilm over the toilet bowl prank. Except not as messy... 8O

A thread on elective mutism can be found here (from what I've read it amounts pretty much to the same thing): http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt97474.html Ahh, thanks for this. I'll take a look through it. :) i tend to stay quiet unfortunately, better to be assumed a fool than to prove it.. This is v...

Does anyone else suffer with this? If so, any advice? How do you deal with it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_mutism Anxiety in social situations causes me most of my problems. My inability to properly articulate myself well (or at all in extreme circumstances) is a huge part of that. When i...

Small holidays away from the stresses of consciousness are essential to me. When things are overwhelming, the nothingness of sleep is pure bliss. It's just a wonderful escape from everything. Ideally, I'd have an on/off switch. The fact that I find it hard to get to sleep due to an overactive mind a...

Psychiatric medication needs to be prescribed with more care, particularly antipsychotics. They're the modern day equivalent of incarceration and restraint, chemical instead of psychical. Too many people's lives are destroyed by mind dulling antipsychotics, particularly people with ASD. While it may...

If it's in any way connected, I always made-up nonsense words and names for things. I still do this at home. It must be often enough, because my mother doesn't usually have to ask for a translation when I come out with a made-up word like 'schnoo' when referring to the vacuum cleaner or 'slinky-mali...

It's just small talk to most people, but I can't help but find it intrusive. I'm also scared people are going to judge me by my answer. Funny thing is, I try to ask these questions myself now (even if I'm not interested in the answer), since it's actually seen as rude not to take interest in other p...

Analysis to paralysis. I personally think that's the biggest advantage of having AS - we see more than NTs do about the world around us. We can notice little things that other people don't notice - and isn't that amazing? I agree. Sure, without our tendencies to over-analyze we'd have less an...

When I was pregnant with my eldest child 11 years ago, the psychiatrist put a huge amount of pressure on me to have a 'theraputic termination' and I had to really battle him (and others) to keep her. That's absolutely disgraceful. Nevermind it being totally inappropriate, but is it even legal for a...

Maybe not.

We need a film noir style aspie movie with a typical solitary, alienated protagonist. Asperger's goes cool and gritty. :P

My friends will sometimes bump their boobs into boys that they're trying to flirt with. I also see them twirling their hair round their fingers and giggling like idiots.
