That side of the family is horrible. I am so sorry that you have to deal with this kind of stress and evil behavior. It's just vile. Sending love and courage and big hugs to you and your kids. I would send the flowers and block them on everything. Sending the flowers is a really big gesture...

You are not alone.  It seems a lot of us have family members they would rather not associate with or admit to. These stories are a bit triggering, but at least I get to confront my own anger/fear/regret and work to diminish it. My brother died last year.  All our lives, he tried to boss me around, ...

Everything will be fine. Just slow down, take a breath and take it one step at a time. Sounds like you pretty much have a handle on changing your ids and addresses and all that. If you can, do not do a change of address card at the post office. That is never a good idea. Change your address one comp...

A meltdown can be defined in a couple of ways. Everyone has meltdowns including neurotypicals. One type of meltdown is very common even with neurotypicals. It's basically when someone loses it because s/he is overwhelmed or exhausted. That can involve screaming or crying or any kind of emotional out...

It just makes him a neurotypical with a brain injury. How is someone with a brain injury neurotypical? Most people don't have brain injuries. The same way that a black person who has vitiligo is still black. To be a neurotype, it has to be your original design, how you were originally created. Inju...

Seems unlikely that one Protestant denomination would have more genetic propensity for autism than other Christian denominations. Though its not impossible. Like you said it might be that quakers are just more accepting of autistics, or it could be that Quakers tend to be some kind of more affluent...

I'm not a supporter of the neurodiversity movement anymore, and I certainly don't agree with that claim. From my perspective, NDs need to learn how to cope with their differences, how to function among NTs, and how to build their own networks and groups with their own preferences at the center. The...

Call it whatever you want. You can decide what fits you and feels best for you. You know your body and your symptoms. You can choose which word fits your situation best. People should respect whatever you choose.

Thank you so much. I get bullied by so many people in all walks of life. This latest bout of severe bullying was from my disability lawyer. Skibum, I am sad to hear of your experience. I had posted a thread about bullying as well, a year or two ago. It is frustrating that so few people are willing ...

When I took the quiz, it gave me a high probability of being neurotypical, but not all of my traits were mentioned. And I didn't answer all the questions, feeling uncomfortable with some of them. Although I have a number of neurodivergent traits, I don't think I'd be diagnosed as I'm neurotypical i...

One of which was a guy asking different members of different ages about the pros and cons of having kids and why many people in the states are having less kids. I remember one woman who was 39 saying she still...
