Hi ihgeek and welcome to the wrongplanet. Not everybody wants to be diagnosed and that is fine. I wanted to be, and it came as no surprise when I was diagnosed with Asperger's. Hope this site is useful to you, and enjoy. |

Hi Nick and welcome to the wrongplanet. I know what you mean about feeling alone. Even when I am involved in some social gathering (which I do not like) I feel alone. I was just recently diagnosed with Asperger's, and this has a big difference in my life. I feel like after all these years, I finally... |

Hi Matt and welcome to the wrongplanet. I have Asperger's too. A lot of people with it would rather act "normal," but I take pride in being me. I fit in enough with the world that I get by---like it sounds like you have too, but at the same time, people say I am eccentric. I know I am eccentric acco... |

Hi drowbot0181. Nice to meet you and welcome to the wrongplanet. You wanted to know how to go about getting diagnosed. When I did, I looked online and can't remember the site exactly, but here is one that lists the place I went to. It should help you. http://www.psychologytoday.com/ When you get to ... |

I have heard others talk about the negativity that can go along with having Asperger's. I may be very naive to this, but I haven't encountered it yet. The thing I get a lot of is, "You? Autistic? I don't believe that since you are a teacher and etc." It's like people expect autism to cause us to not... |

Hi Sharon and welcome to the wrongplanet. I know it's easy to say "don't be nervous" about your evaluation, but just remember, if you have it---you have it, if you do not---you do not. And it's always been that way. When I was diagnosed with Asperger's, the guy told me, "nothing I can do will ever c... |

Hi Jwa and welcome to the wrongplanet. It's wonderful that you are wanting to learn about your friends and be better able to relate to them. I was diagnosed with Asperger's when I was an adult. Since it's very tough for most of us with autism to socialize well, it's great to have neurotypical people... |

Hi dfgh and welcome to the wrongplanet. I too was diagnosed with Asperger's. Just keep upbeat and positive about college, and remember that afterwards you still have your life in front of you to live. When I was in college I used to channel my interests into research papers and assignments---that wa... |

I have Asperger's which was diagnosed when I was an adult. Would I want to get rid of it?---No. So if there was a "cure" I would not take the medicine. I am however beginning some "coaching" sessions so that I can be a better husband and father to my family. Now for my bold statement on autism. I do... |

Hi Alex and welcome to the wrongplanet. I hope this site proves helpful to you. I am also Asperger's diagnosed. I also find song/lyric meanings interesting. Hi MOA and welcome to the wrongplanet. It's great that you are doing this kind of research for your son. What you seem to be wanting here is support from adult aspies (based on our experiences) and help for your son as he has transgressed into adulthood. And I think you have found so far that all of... |

Yes Anonymous, I saw that one on television a few months ago. That was a strange story, one of those that you never forget. I expect doctors will have to remove the smaller fetus from the one year old. Very strange indeed. |
