Just enthusiastically reiterate at every relevant opportunity that you are down for whatever they throw at you. And if they ask you something that catches you off-guard, ask them to clarify and use that time to gather your thoughts. If you do that and have half of a qualification you'll get offers, ...

I started smoking socially when I was 15 but have been doing it full-on since I was 18. Basically dead-on 3/4 of a pack a day since then aside from extreme drinking circumstances (more) and associated hangovers (less/none). I have a heavy duty oral fixation, and for that reason I "love" smoking desp...

"Adoption romanticists"?

Does such a thing really exist?

I'd love to see the "research" that suggests adopted kids are more likely to commit suicide.

TO BE CLEAR, PLEASE POST LINKS RIGHT HERE TO RESEARCH SUGGESTING THIS. I'M SURE THEY ARE ALL VERY SCIENTIFIC.

My high school actually was very legit, at least as big urban public schools go. I guess I lucked out, the graduation rate was 97% or so and like 85% went to college, and all things considered I was well prepared. My school had an IB program, I wasn't "full IB" but I took a grip of those classes (pr...

I got sick as hell while I was drinking that horrid box wine. Not just hung over but genuinely came down sick, I thought it was the wine at first and stopped drinking but it turned out to be the flu. Dear god, having both a 102 fever and a box wine hangover at the same time is unprecedented misery. ...

I guess this doesn't relate to showers directly, but I've always failed to understand how a straight man feels any differently about a gay man than they do about an unattractive woman. It's a human being, and one towards whom you have no sexual attraction. There are tons of people out there who fit ...

I have only had a single one night stand. It was OK, but I have a hard time not getting attached. I definitely get the "attachment" part, though not specifically for the same reasons you laid out. I too have only had a single one-night stand. In my (obviously limited) experience I can say it's pret...

Also

For some degenerate reason my girlfriend and I decided it was a good idea to buy a box of Franzia on the way home from breakfast this morning (fruity red sangria, of course).

You're god damn right I'm enjoying a glass (or, more accurately, a plastic cup) of that funk at 10:30am.

Wait, why is adoption some kind of hot-button issue? Do people, like, not know individuals personally who are actually adopted? It's pretty common. I'm adopted and I never once in my life thought twice about the implications of that. I'm adopted too and the only person on this site for whom adoptio...

I've been playing casually for years, and, after reaching a certain point, I can't seem to get any better. Maybe 8-10 kills max, lot of deaths. I'm thinking maybe Asperger's has something to do with it since I seem to have slower reactions than other players and I get stuck with certain routine mot...

Devil's Cut is awesome.

It's definitely strong, but I don't get into liquor unless I'm already drunk so it's not something I really notice much.

I'm a fan of Jim Beam products in general and Devil's Cut is probably my second favorite one (after the black label Beam).

I've got a little bit of a disconnect going on here. The spirit of this discussion seems to be focused on sex with large numbers of partners, and I just am not really feeling that as an indicator of whether or not life has been correctly "lived". Personally I'd rather have spent my youth as selfishl...

The law here requires smokers to be 18 years old before purchasing cigarettes. I still get asked to prove my age, despite being 32. I get carded for cigarettes occasionally and almost always for alcohol. A couple weeks ago I was out drinking with my brother (who is 23) and some girl asked us if we ...

I second "guns, germs and steel"! Third, although I like Diamond's Collapse better (Collapse is the companion/follow-up book to Guns Germs and Steel; it deals with the factors that lead to the downfall of societies, rather than the ascension). Along those lines (sort of), if there are other anthrop...

I've never had any of those things.

I guess I can't say I "hate" them per se, I can definitely see the utility for some people, but it's an entire social realm with specific rules that I don't understand or care about in the least.

No thank you sir.
