Does rhetorical debate based on rules of logic improve your depression? It's the other way around. Brain trying to skew logic to match subjective reality and emotions. If you feel miserable, your brain will cherrypick and exaggerate every excuse why. It has nothing to do with actual formal logic an...

I almost dropped out of University after being one the best students for several years. If you already own iPad and iPhone it makes sense to get Apple laptop. Recent m1 models are great. If you were tech-savvy and on a tight budget, I would suggest picking some of older, about 2013-2015 models with 8Gb or RAM or more, because these are still decent and it's easy to replace battery and ...

LDL is not "bad". And it can fluctuate, it can be high today and significantly lower tomorrow. And it is completely meaningless out of context. It can be very high in good circumstances, like if you are on a good diet, exercising, losing a lot of excess fat. And low LDL in some circumstanc...

I just feel like as soon as someone knows I have Asperger's it then defines me. It's OK if you're not ashamed of it, but when you are, it's different. I'm not ashamed of being atheist or white or female or British, but I don't like being associated with autism. It's my deepest, darkest shame, and a...

I also think it's important to notice that being too motivated can be just as harmful as being under-motivated or depressed. For me the cycle often starts with letting myself get too motivated (hence "obsessed or addicted"). The struggle is to balance the cycle, to head off over-motivatio...

The longer I wait, the more unnecessary suffering I will endure.

What exactly causes you pain and suffering in present?

I don't have this problem since I learned basics of human biochemistry and focus on being intentional about getting enough physical activity, direct sunlight, fresh air and proper nutrition. Our motivation, will power, mental strength are all result of a chain of chemical reactions and if there is o...

It's not necessarily what other people think, it's how I feel. Since getting diagnosed I have always been uncomfortable in my own skin and I prefer to identify as neurotypical. You know, just like females uncomfortable in their own skin prefer to identify as males or non-binary (and vice-versa). I ...

And this is why I wish that I didn't get diagnosed so early in life, because as an adult I still don't have much control over who knows. I am so f*****g jealous of everyone here who never got a diagnosis in childhood - especially those of my age and younger. I never read their threads that say &quo...

This is tricky situation, but I believe disclosing it before you got married and have kids if you are planning on it, would be the right thing to do. I wouldn't make a big deal out of it though, wouldn't make it a "we need to talk" kind of thing.
