Apologies for double posting, but hey, I just thought of something. I got laid off from my job a few weeks back. Pretty much the same story as millions of other people, hit by a rock during a landslide. So last week I got this notice from the state unemployment people that I have to go into their of...

I don't spend much time trying to find human relationships or unicorns.

Damn, I'm impressed.

I'd suggest a "Million Autistics March on Washington," but everybody would take off in a different direction and most of us would end up at the Smithsonian or the National Art Gallery.

Like a lot of people here, I had exactly the same problems for years and years before I ever heard of Asperger's.

Blame is not an appropriate word. It's just an explanation that fits the facts.

Makes perfect sense to me, except I don't feel inclined to write no book, but that's me, not you. I feel more at home in the desert than anyplace else. I find a sense of belonging there, a harmony with me a part of it. Not everybody feels that way. I'd be out there still, except I didn't find enough...

I like to remember that the internet is 'rarified air' you have to have a comptuer and you have to have a steady contact with the internet. There are people that don't have this, WP gets a lot of folks that log in in libraries and at school. I posted in a thread where the guy was in the unemploymen...

I think it is more that he enjoys adulation. No. He is just honest and good, and kind. He doesn't need or welcome adulation. Get your head around this notion, please. Sure, i believe you. I always believe everything some groupie says about the celebrity they worship. Nope, facts don't bother me, no...

I wouldn't mind a cure either. The cost-benefit of aspergers is like paying a million dollars for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Sure it's a part of who I am, but I really wouldn't mind being some other guy who has a few abilities the guy I am lacks. Anyway, I don't see a cure happening anytime...

No need to pack iron in the national parks. You can always reason with a grizzly, just like you can reason with a criminal.

I wish the intelligent designer had been a little less intelligent about designing the eyes of house flies, mosquitoes, and those rats that bite kids and spread bubonic plague. But the intelligent designer is having a hard time keeping up with things. His email inbox is overflowing with customer com...

I'm a million miles from being politically correct, but for me there's limits. If somebody said, "I'm sick of being treated like a n****r just because I have Asperger's," I'd figure that's outside the limits. When somebody says, "I'm sick of being treated like a ret*d just because I have Asperger's,...

It's been my impression that most of the sensory issues associated with asperger's/autism involve the inability to switch off and no longer perceive sensory input that's irrelevant. Things like the texture of clothes, a ticking clock back when clocks used to tick, or what normal people call "backgro...

I gotta love all these personal testimonials. Kinda like what George Bush said about Putin, "I looked into his eyes and I saw his soul," or all those women who went off with Ted Bundy because they could tell he was so sincere and caring. I'm glad you told me how much Tony Attwood cares about the edu...
