Its not messed up to be pointing out that people self diagnose themselves all the time incorrectly, or because they just want attention. Could I please see a published article or source which backs up your assertion that people self-diagnose themselves all the time incorrectly, or because they just... |

No, you don't have to prove anything to me. However, along with what I've mentioned, you might be interested to know some of the co-morbidities can be degenerative and permanent. Also, depending on your age and level of difficulties, there might be certain opportune moments for more rapid brain dev... |

Go see a doctor Ditto. It has become a Du Jour diagnosis, and media hyped campaign for profit, more than ever before. Not random, go see a doctor. Ah, I see. The two of you are suggesting that I see a doctor so that I can prove to you that I'm a 'real' aspie and not just a late hanger-on jumping on... |

As to 'seeing a doctor', non-sequitor. Perhaps just random neural discharge from TheZach - unknown. So, disregard, and we shall greet you properly. Heh, I'm glad to hear that! One of the things I was concerned about initially with posting here was that being self-diagnosed carried a stigma of some ... |

Elaborate? I don't have a tendency to comply with unsolicited directives on the internet that don't come with supporting reasons why I should, so I'd like to hear why you feel like this would be necessary. |

ok..so there is this AS guy I would lke to get to know better. We've had a pretty in-depth discussion about this..not really sure what if any conclusion we came up with, as I think he feels his AS is a huge hinderance. Anyway...since AS have a difficult time "reading" body language, does everything... |

Who you callin' a honkie, cracker? Welcome to WP. :) My reaction was much the same way when I found out about Asperger's. Just having a general framework to reference myself in was a huge deal of relief. It's like all those crazy, different, weird things that are so hard to understand about yourself... |

I'll try to clam up / calm down and sift through the prior forums & soak up the camaraderie before posting again. I get the suspicion it's all been said before. But first let me see if I understand this correctly: We are WIRED this way? The verbosity? Over analysis? Literal interpretation? Immu... |

OK. Hands up everyone who has ever found a book they weren't all that strongly partial to... "Spellfire" by Ed Greenwood. I usually enjoy his stuff, but after the characters had fought their third dragon in the exact same location I got a little bored and actually stopped reading it before I finish... |

Hi everyone, I'm new here to the WrongPlanet site. I came by to say hi because I was doing some reading on Asperger's today and noted some of the community sites. I've been thinking a lot on how I relate to people recently, so I thought I'd stop in and say hi. :) I guess I should tell everyone a lit... |
