I've noticed a lot of things in Christianity are supposed to drive you insane,so you realise that any attempt to be holy is doomed to failure.

In other churches it's long boring sermons, bad jokes told by pastors, not meeting any good friends in church, being treated badly by others in church.

Knees hurt a little bit when climbing stairs. Sometimes get random pains in feet that feel like a sprain when walking but it goes away within an hour.

Sounds like that religion would drive you insane. The expectations and how to judge if someone is worshipping correctly.

I think what the Catholic church says about all being saved could be true. If it were not true, it would be the greatest tragedy if even one person went to hell. Therefore the most important part of church life would be evangelism, in that case. Hardly any Christians spread the word about Jesus,it's...

That is true actually.

He was hungry before he died so it can't have been in the stomach.

I suppose the only (fictional) explanation is that it is in the stomach encased in something that sends out hormones which block any feelings of fullness. Explaining the ravenous hunger

That's interesting about the caterpillar thanks. Maybe the wasps are so small that when they hatch they don't cause too much damage?

I wouldn't mind reading those comics. Maybe there are scans online somewhere.

Here's a good resource:
https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/phrases/Asherah-Poles

It shows that God hates the asherah poles, and that the same narrative is consistent across the old testament.

The bit where the Israelites think asherah is bringing them good luck is when they are mistaken.

There's a lesser known sequel set on the English waterways.
It was called Blake's Severn.

It's best if you actually read Jeremiah before coming to a conclusion about it.

It's only fifty or so chapters and each chapter takes about 10-15 minutes to read.

The themes of Israel turning to foreign gods like asherah are written into most of the old testament. It happens again and again (due to our nature of finding it difficult to commit to one thing). Also, the theme of Israel's enemies coming and defeating them when they stop worshipping Yahweh is in t...

In Jeremiah 44 he is being sarcastic when he says to continue worshiping asherah. It's a consistent narrative if you read it from start to finish. It's a bit like if your wife cheated on you and cos you were so disgusted you said 'go back to your lover!! !' The old testament contains many verses pre...

It sounds like your mom and grandma have done a real number on you and made you self-hating.

Do you live with your mom?

If I were you I'd make some friends who were intelligent and civilised. You seem to have been given the impression that men have to be mindlessly violent and uncivilized.

They had multiple gods because they got infected with the customs of the neighbouring countries. They were monotheistic in the first place. They went to strict monotheism after being conquered by the Babylonians. This is because Yahweh told them that they were invaded due to them worshipping other g...
