I would be interested in corresponding with someone from anywhere in the world. I am a 53 year-old married male who looks and acts younger. One of my primary interests is history; I have many other secondary interests. Pop Culture, by and large, is not one of them. I have been employed in the same p...

Hi Claudia, I have been browsing the PDD-NOS/classic autism forum, as well as this forum, and am in admiration of what you are doing for autism awareness and "doing something" pertaining to the attainment of autistic people's highest potentials in Italy. Is there much autism awareness in Italy? As f...

Hi everyone, I'm 53, though I believe I exude youth. I'm not ready to be old yet. I don't really have many friends; would like to make some. I'm not one to latch onto people; I respond well to what could be described as "warm distance." I like "warm distance" better than "cold closeness." I'm neithe...

I'm not a religious person, though I wish I could find immortality (i.e., I don't want to die--If I did die, I'd be stuck, unless there is a place beyond mere physical reality). I'm not very philosophical, or really introspective; perhaps that's why I haven't really delved deeply into spiritual matt...

Alas, in an economy whose basis is money, one has to find ways to earn it (I don't mean to employ that you're not finding ways to earn it--it's just a fact, alas!). I worked in a daycare once. I had some rocky times--I made some social mistakes--but I persevered. It was a very rewarding time for me....

Oh yeah...forgot some details: I'm married, but I want to get "un-married" soon. It's not that my wife is bad--it's that she doesn't understanding Aspie-ASD type things. She's socially conscious--and conscious, especially of how she is perceived in public. She enjoys wearing the "latest clothes," an...

Hi Everybody. I am a 53-year-old male who is self-diagnosed on the Autistic Spectrum--not sure if I'm specifically Aspie, though. I have problems with physical perception (e.g., I cannot tell, too well, how far I am away from a car when I park, so I have to get out of the car to see better). I have ...

Hi there, I'm sorry you lost your job. I remember when I got fired; it bought me to tears. From my experience, the best thing to do is to try to get another job as soon as possible. I did, and was successful. Maybe, if you were at your job less than a few months, you could just not mention it on you...

I went to high school from 1975-1979. The only great parts was when I was able to converse with teachers. I didn't get along with most of the kids then. I wasn't bullied much--but it was quite lonely. I commuted from Far Rockaway to Manhattan for part of my school career; the trains were from 1949, ...

I am a 53-year-old male who did not speak until age 5. Also had problems with social skills. Could not discern sarcasm or subtle hints. Was teased and bullied as a child (though not severely). I tend to stick to routines, rather than take risks. I've been on my job for 33 years, and am looking forwa...
